April 30, 2003 -- AN Arab TV network wants to make Baghdad Bob it's next star - if he's alive.
The new Dubai-based al-Arabiya satellite channel is trying to reach Mohammad Saeed Al-Sahhaf, the former Iraqi information minister whose daily press briefings during the Iraq war were highlighted by exaggerated statements and outright lies.

Oh he can do better than that! You know Dan Rather IS getting a little long in the tooth.
Mohammad baby, have your people get in touch with my people...we'll do lunch.

I can't believe this would ever work. He's a cult figure in the western world because of the whoppers he told and made us laugh because we *knew* he was lying. I would think the Arab community would passionately hate him because they believed his lies, believed the Iraqis were really socking it to the coalition forces only to find out it was all lies and they felt humiliated and betrayed. I can't see how he could possibly be a popular figure in the Arab world.

I hoped he'd be an adviser for the Hillary 2008 campaign. He'd be right at home.
