Good for Martin Milner.... funny I hear that his Adam-12 costar Kent McCord has gone to the left and signed on with the anti war groups

Click here for info on the California Route 66 Preservation Foundation.
John Steinbeck called Route 66 The Mother Road in his book "The Grapes of Wrath".
Route 66 was the Mother Road of hopes and dreams, of fun and adventure. It embodied the spirit of a nation on the move. Help preserve this spirit for generations to come.

I got the following email from a conservative radio talk show host Phil Paleologos of American Breakfast. Phil broadcasts from a 'world famous' Diner in New Bedford, MA. But he'll be 'on the road' next Tuesday broadcasting from Chicago about Route 66... the Mother Road.
Would you please ping people who are interested in Route 66 to this email? He'd like to hear from Freepers on his toll free number 1-877-977-6100 from 5-9AM Eastern time.
Thanks so much, Julie
EMAIL:
Hi Julie:
I'm hitting "the road" on Tuesday. I'll be broadcasting from Lou Mitchell's diner in Chicago to help raise awareness of the preservation work being done by Hampton Inn and their employees to historic landmarks dotting America's Main Street, US RT. 66.
Info is at www.hamptoninn.com, click on Rt.66 project. If any Freepers have roadside stories and memories to share about RT. 66, encourage them to either drop by or at least call them in at 1 - 877 - 977 - 6100. I'm creating a thematic show, Tuesday, around The Mother Road and invite our audience to participate or listen in.
Getting ready to "get my kicks on Route 66,"
Phil Paleologos

The picture isn't showing up on my computer. I never saw the t.v. show, but I love the real Route 66.

It was a pretty lame shot anyway. I'll see if I saved it.
If not, I'll check for some other shots.
Coincidentally, My wife and I will be spending a 18th anniversary next week at a RamadaInn in Modesto just off RT 99...I never spent anytime on RT 66 but it goes right thru the heart of America, some might say.

Martin Milner, lead actor of the original TV series Route 66 even made an appearance at the kick-off celebration. What a collection of fans of the Mother Road!

I don't get what the "Roadside attraction" sign is about. The SM pier? You should drive on the remaining parts of Route 66 when you get a chance. I hope to do all of it some day soon. There's some really off the beaten track stuff on route 66 because so many little towns and stops have been isolated when the freeways bypassed them.
