Good morning, FRiends,
A few weeks ago I asked not one, but two of our Finest wordsmiths to get together and write something for us - a topic of their choosing. Expecting an essay something like "America The Beautiful", what they sent me was anything but. A must-read for all of you, you will be entertained from the beginning to the end. Not only did they put their heads together to put together this most delightful tale, jwfiv even found the photos to illustrate!
I can't say how much I enjoyed putting their words and pictures together. So, let's get started!

Good morning. I'm off to read this must-read post. Here's a
photo of me in a paper bag at the White House Media's correspondence Freep. My bag says: "I watch CNN. Why is it so dark in here?"

I will go back and read this thread later.
I want to say Good Morning before it gets so far ahead of me that I'll never catch up.

WOW! This is great learning about all these colorful ancestors. :)
We've been digging around through Algore's Internet searching for our own ancestors. Interesting stuff out there.

ROTFL!!!!!! This thread is a CLASSIC!!
I've laughed from start to finish. LadyX, JW, you did a masterful job!
As Billie described you both...."wordsmiths"....you can't be beat. : )
Thank you. A keeper for sure!
Well, Ms.BillieBlue, you sure know how to pick 'em. Exie and JW are fantastic in their own right, but together they are off the charts! LOL
PS My ancestor would hve been honored to be part of the first 'Finest Ancestor' post. : )

Too cute! Y'all amaze me with the ways you come up with to keep the Finest fresh and entertaining. The problem I have had tracing down my ancestors is compounded by the fact my name kept changing as I grew up. At birth I was called Scrap. When I turned 2 it was changed to Index Card. By the age of 8 I was known as Note Pad and then at 13 it was changed to Half Sheet. It wasn't until I turned 21 that I had the name Flyer, or as my friends called me, 8 1/2 X 11.
The most information I have found on my past is a Mr. Avery and Sara Kraft, both involved with processing wood pulp.

Howdy, everybody ! Happy Monday !
I stayed up LATE last night and then got UP EARLY this morning. Consequently, I am running behind. I got my brother on the plane back to Californee early this morning and then came home and took a 2-hour plus cat nap. Playin' ketchup now.
I'll be back and check out this "Surprise" thread shortly !
