I figured it was some flaky leftist group. Still, the phrase "women in black" did make me think of Orthodox nuns, whose habits are all black.

I had heard of the Women in Black as a white South African group who used to protest against the apartheid policies there. Whether this lot have anything to do with them I don't know.
