Bush May Be A Write in on More than one State Ballot (late Sept. 2 Convention-now California?)
Washington Post ^ | Sunday April 27, 2003 | Brian Faler

The biggest question may be California, where election officials plan to begin printing about 15 million ballots almost immediately after the August 26 deadline-and begin mailing absentee ballots Sept. 3

A spokeswoman for the Secretary of State said that she did not know of any effort to move the deadline or how the state might accommodate the Rebulicans.

'Its not clear at this point,' Terri Carbaugh said.

'It certainly poses a dilema.'

I like the idea of getting Bush on the ballot as being nominated by another party or upstart "third party" if it comes to that.

I think there is a point to be made about Republicans who complained about the NJ Senate insanity but you play with the hand your dealt. You may not like the 3-point line in basketball but if your team is behind by 3 with 10 seconds left, you certainly are going to take that shot from behind the arch.

kerry would have to spend $0.00 in California if this is the case, which I doubt.

Bad news. Bush is not going to win CA, but we don't want to hand it to Kerry. It'll just make it easier for him to campaign in the other states.

Your state is trying to make sure you don't have an opportunity to vote for Bush. My suggestion is that you quickly move to a state where they have democracy.

Nominating him in some other party would be 100% fine with me. I just don't like our side pushing to change the rules. We knew the rules going in.

It's perfectly acceptable to change a law using the legislative process. A little novel these days, but acceptable nonetheless.
