"In an unusual display of agreement on foreign policy, leaders of both the governing Popular Party of Prime Minister José María Aznar and the opposition Socialist Party condemned the executions and the repression."

"A letter read by Fernando Savater, a leading Spanish intellectual, asked ''democratic governments'' worldwide to reduce their diplomatic representation in Havana and to expel Cuba from international organizations."

Everything is falling apart for El Comandante.

Hmmm, surely all those peace loving leftists who trumpeted the Pope's declaration that going to war with Iraq was unjust will support him against Castro /sarcasm.

In stark contract with Senator dung Harken who demanded the President remove the embargo on Cuba. This in the immediate aftermath of the execution of people who tried to escape Cuba.

If we could only get control of his off shore numbered accounts and make him as poor as his peasant. Then we would see many in the media drop him if he ceases to be a cash cow.

Indeed. Moreover, have you noticed that our Sunday talkshows don't want to give Senator Harkin's visit to Cuba *ANY* publicity?!

Heaven forbid that the U.S. actually talk openly about the traitor.

Everytime momemtum builds for easing the embargo the "El Chefe" torpedoes it with a crackdown.

Having American goods and money flood Cuba would doom him and he knows it.
Having the embargo is his scapegoat for a failed regime.

Good to see that JP II is getting his act together after dropping the human rights' ball on Iraq.

Well, he's still there.. And I believe we agreed not to invade as part and parcel of resolving the Cuban Missle Crisis.

Of course, that's a deal we made with the Soviet Union.. which is now defunct.

Heh heh. That would be scary.

"We live in fictious times when a fictious president of Cuba has a ficticious government. The POPE is against your socialist dicatatorship, Mr. Castro! The Pope!!! Shame on you! Once you've got the Pope against you, you know you're through."

Yes, but he's against the only kind of pressure that can be put on Castro: The threat of war. Regardless, it's about time he criticizes someone besides the US.

Luis, almost from the start of the war on Iraq the international press has been finally telling the truth about Castro. It's as if Hussein and Castro shared minders. Chains are being broken. Awesome time to be alive.
