Since Blair's approval ratings have greatly improved, the French citizens are second guessing themselves, it is clear that once again Klinton only knows zippers. Foreign affairs are best left to the grownups.

Blair did cause endless delays, until in the end it became totally ridiculous. Reading between the lines GW must have told Blair to piss or get off the pot, then the games at the UN stopped. Blair certainly had big problems with his party about UN sanction, but this story makes it all much clearer.

One other point, I hope GW and his team are fully aware of the dangers of the ME road map. This is being hyped by all GW's and Israels enemies. It may well be designed to push him into a typical ME morass right in front of his re-election.

There is nothing that the road map supporters want more than GW out of the Whitehouse.

Also makes you wonder who leaked this to the Guardian. Of course, we all know that the Clintons leaked it - since diplomacy fell right on its face, I am sure that Blair would not want this known. Rush was right - again - years ago when he said we are never going to be free from this clown. He will always find a way to interject himself in the news. Not only GW but all future presidents, dem and repub, will have to bear the burden of this oaf for years and years to come.

2. the rapist is monitored by the SS so GWB knows everything, and everywhere....

3. Bliar is no fool...IMHO GWB tipped him off and he played Billy boy like a fiddle

4. clinton had NO impact on anyone. even crusty doesn't take his calls.

I have to believe that Blair is way smarter than clinton, and knows that dealing with the rapist without being completely honest with GWB, a man who takes names, would poision the relationship, and Tony's first loyality is to Briton, and they cannot afford to have what happened to France, happen to them.....

I take issue with you on point 3.

Blair loves Bubba. He had him at the last Labour party conference, where there was a picture of him gazing lovingly up to Bubba. In fact one wondered just how far that "love" goes looking at the picture.

Blair is a third way socialist, he has absolutely zero experience in the real world. The UK is falling apart under his totally incompetent government. There is not a single project that his goverment has instigated that hasn't been an utter disaster.

In short if Bubba whistles little Tony comes running.

I expect that this story was leaked by Bubba to agrandise himself, what's new, but he either didn't care or is too stupid to worry about the damage it does to Blair.

In fact what is nice about it, is that they both come out badly. Bubba for butting in and Blair for allowing him to.

I was thinking the same thing and managed to dig up some relevant info that may help connect dots. It seems there was a breakdown by department of 'missing/unaccounted for' funds for 1999 or 2000, but I could find only a couple.
