I'm puzzled here, if you QUOTE Bill Clinton as a valid source, does that make YOU a Clinton lover?

Seems the word "secret" no longer applies to ... anything.

Not that I think anyone's consulting shameking x42 on policies affecting America is a good idea.

I would like to know who initiated the "secret" meeting. It's my guess that Clinton did, having consulted with the French. Having some amount of loyalty to Blair Clinton then went to help Blair save face while protecting his main objective of embarrassing and frustrating Bush. Clinton is a political mastermind.

"I would guess that Clinton offered this as a solution, knowing full well that he had talked Chirac into vetoing it"

Yep. I would bet that Clinton told Chirac to announce his intention to use his security council veto. Sounds like a Clinton move to me.

"The courage of Blair lies in the exact fact that he rose above ideology to support what's right, despite the attacks on him by his own party."

That's exactly right. Knowing that Blair even went against the advice of his "good buddy." I'm sure that was difficult, but it's clear that Tony chose wisely. It owuld appear that he's starting to see through some of that razzle dazzle...

He had a lot of problems at home, yet he stood steadfastly by us

I, unabashed reviler of Blair as I may be, believe that 9/11 gave this reprobate a new lease on political life. Whereas even the Brits were about ready to give this ferret his walking papers, because of the problems you reference, he was actually able to capitalize on the WOT.

He joined himself to GWB's hip in an about-face. Previous to the Twin Towers, he was a very vocal opponent of the man. He merely remained a left-wing lapdog of Bill's while using GWB and the War on Terror as patriotic cover.

I prefer to think that Blair "saw the light" and is truly reformed.

This sounds like Clinton's people still trying to horn in on a success they never had.

Exactly. This is Clinton trying to hitch his legacy to the Iraq War bandwagon.

Exactly. This is Clinton trying to hitch his legacy to the Iraq War bandwagon.

The best thing that Clinton could do to correct his legacy would be to end his disgusting existence.

This is more gargage from the Guardian. The left wing National Inquirer of the UK.

The Guardian is even less believable than Reuters and the NY Slimes.

Ho Hum. Baa Humbug! Off to bed!

"...had private meetings.."

She is the devil personified! How I wish someone (in front of camera) would run up to her with a cross and hold it up to her face! I would love it!!

>>It seems to me that Clinton was deliberately working against Bush and the United States as he sought to extend Blix's work. Had France not opened their mouth and promised to veto any resolution with an ultimatum of war we could still be watching UN meetings.<<

It sure sounds like it.

What Clinton doesn't seem to realize is that while W is nicey-nice domestically with his new tone and all, he is DEAD serious about defending the country. Don't be surprised to see W's surrogates drop a dime on Clinton big time.

I am convinced that Bill Clinton wants to be the next Secretary General of the UN (the ultimate manifestation of his King-of-the-World complex). He, more than any other person in this scenario, has a vested interest in keeping the UN not only relevant but at the critical center of all things that happen. Every one of Bill's suggestions for inspections, etc., was wrong--just like his eight years as yahoo-in-chief.

I am disappointed that Blair would even consult such a loser for a second opinion. Until tonight, I was almost beginning to respect Blair as someone with backbone-- Time will only tell whether this has been a real growth experience for Blair or not.

I think Blair just tolerated Clinton, he obviously didn't really listen to him, I am sure Clinton advised Blair to stop supporting Bush, but Blair never wavered.

Yes, I agree, I read that Clinton wants to be President of the UN.
I also think that just as Carter worked secretly with the Russians, against Republicans, I would not put it past Clinton, that he worked with the French, and also tried to turn Blair against us, by advising him to do nothing without UN approval. Clinton wanted to see Bush fail.

If so, then he just ****** up. W won't tolerate games when it comes to national defense. If I were Clinton, I'd take a five year vacation starting now.

Maybe he can go live in France.
Although I would prefer to send him to Antarctica.
