With American producer Boeing really hurting, and U.S. workers out of work, this is truly an outrage. Let's all write or call the Chairman to express our disgust at the Chief WEASILS getting this huge order. BOYCOTT JET BLUE !!!!!

I never understood boycotts as a weapon. If we send a dollar to Japan, let's say to buy something over there. What will they do with that dollar? They buy something from the US.

That's why NAFTA is preferrable to "buying American"

Go Jet Blue.

I'm not planning to travel anywhere right now, but I look forward to sticking it to the old school U.S. carriers because they're such an anti-consumer bunch of union 'tards.

I wish they would add some routes and longet flights. I always wanted to support them, just because they were little guys who were really trying.

But 65 new aircraft from Airbus? What are they thinking?

Boeing is and was holding a lot of notes on planes they fronted to the majors. When JetBlue was starting up, with their buisness plan to do a SouthWest and cut into the majors, Boeing told them to stuff it( Why piss off their old costomers for an upstart and risk having to take their unpaid for planes back?).

Chickens coming home for Boeing.

sure I wish they were buying boeing but their entire fleet is made up of airbus 320's so it would be stupid to switch now

Aren't those Airbus planes the ones with the carbon composite tail that breaks off whenever they go through some wake turbulence?

Well... isn't that what the FAA said happened to American flt 587 ?

Can't remember the details, but I've read lately that those planes have a high content of American-made components. I'm not sure that it's a bad thing for Boeing to have a competitor.

I'm sure laid off Boeing workers would disagree with your sentiment. I disagree with it. I may not like my brother, but I will defend him from attacks by outsiders. Spending billions of dollars earned from American passengers with the French is not right.

First I agree with you, but maybe they know something about Boeing that us Washingtonian's only worry about. WSJ claims Boeing's Commercial Airline Division may cease operations if their gamble on the 7E7 peters out.

We've been hit hard here and there seems to be no end in sight. They've furloughed 35,000 folks so far and 800 more got their notice Monday. Boeing will never be the company it once was, I'm afraid. I'm worried more however, about attempts to nationalize Boeing.

This sounds like Braniff, ala 1981. JetBlue doesn't fly to Dallas, because of Southwest.

Southwest is expanding, too, but they're ordering 4 737s.

From a pure political perspective, this is a bonehead move on JetBlue's part. Buying French planes when the French are scorned ain't too smart.

Financially, who knows?
