It may be rock n'roll, but we don't like it

CHICAGO (AFP) - Their albums may have gone platinum but a concert by popsters Creed left some fans distinctly unimpressed -- so much so they sued for a refund.

Four fans that attended a December 2002 concert by Creed outside Chicago filed a class action lawsuit in circuit court here Monday seeking two million dollars in damages from the band, its promoters, and the ticket-sellers.

The disgruntled concertgoers allege in court papers that the band's lead singer Scott Stapp was so "intoxicated and/or medicated that he was unable to sing the lyrics of a single Creed song."

"Instead ... Stapp left the stage on several occasions during songs for long periods of time, rolled around on the floor of the stage in apparent pain or distress and appeared to pass out while on stage during the performance."

The rocker's condition was clearly a result of an earlier drink or drugs binge, but the other band members and the concert promoters decided to press on with the concert anyway, the suit alleges.

The band later apologized to fans for any disappointment caused by "the most unique of all Creed shows," but urged them to remember "It's only rock and roll," in a message posted on their website.

But that doesn't appear to have cut much ice with the four plaintiffs who are looking to recoup the 227 dollars they shelled out on tickets and parking fees.

In total the suit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, seeks in excess of 2 million dollars for the 15,000 fans who attended the December 29 concert at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, from Creed, Ticketmaster (the organisation that sold the tickets) and promoters, Jeff Hanson Management and Promoters Inc.

If I didn't know what 750 double-pumper Edelbrock intakes were, I would be unable to call myself a real Texas chick.

Where on earth do teens come up with the idea that because they weren't "ENTERTAINED" enough, they deserve compensation?

Man, that gives me TONS of ideas related to the Jacksons' Victory Tour.

Does anyone remember 15 or 20 years ago WLS reported someone who had purchased season tickets for the Cubs or White Sox’s sue the team for misrepresenting themselves as a profession team after a particularly poor season? The judge ruled that professional only meant baseball was their livelihood. It didn’t mean they were any good. It might be a precedent for this case.

Phil Keaggys first group...The "first christain rock band"
phil left fame (hendrix said phil was a better guitarist) to spread the gospel in song.
Phil made a wise decision.. his old bandmates went on to limited fame with other bands but phil had staying power and now the band has reunited under his vision.

Lost in all this confusion is the simple, unalterable and obhective fact that Creed sucks.

Hard.
