Score Another Big Victory for Bill Clinton in the "Culture War"
TV schedule | 04-20-03 | Theodore R.

Posted on 04/20/2003 11:19:25 AM PDT by Theodore R.

In 1994, then Senator Robert J. Dole spoke of the "Age of Nixon" at the funeral of the late President whom he had long supported. Actually, there has never been an "Age of Nixon," as Senator Dole was quite mistaken.

However, by 2003, it is clear that in the area of "culture" the United States remained mired in the image of Mr. Dole's presidential opponent. Yes, it is the "Age of Clinton," a sequel to the old "Age of Aquarius."

On Monday night Fox TV will offer the five-week "Mr. Personality." In this "miniseries," a young single woman courts 20 eligible men. She must judge each on personality, not looks. The men, chosen from a national search, wear masks and hoods on dates. The audience sees the contestants, but only the winner will be unveiled to the woman at the end of the show.

Fox says the hostess will be "the world's most famous intern." And that of course is the beautiful Monica Lewinsky!

So "boss" Bill Clinton has scored a pyrrhic victory here. Not only is his "Miss Lewinsky" hosting national TV now, but he could probably win the contest himself if only she would let HIM behind one of the masks!

The "Age of Clinton" is not going away. Waiting in the wings is not just Monica Lewinsky, but her great competitor, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY, who will be placed on the national ballots of 50 states and the District of Columbia at a time to be disclosed.

Stay tuned for more.

Yea, but there could be no Lewinsky for Fox to hire without her famous former boss. Don't you see how we are in a long-term "Age of Clinton" culturally if not politically?

I know exactly what you are saying, and I agree. However, just because there is a Lewinsky doesn't mean that Fox has to give her a show. I'm not arguing with you, I'm just disappointed in Fox.

I think this is a good thing. Every time someone tunes into this program they will be immediately reminded on what trash Clinton is. I hope it lasts at least 3 or 4 months.

True. But, they will do anything to make a buck! Can anyone even believe the people out there that are working jobs from morning till night to raise and support their families? The young men and women working two jobs to support their families and plan for their future? The military who put their lives on the line when called, live in squalor on the battlefield, and do it all with honor and pride? All the people of this great country who work from morning till night doing what is necessary to make a living and support families and try to do what is best for their children so as all parents strive to do...make a life better for their children they they had?

Then along comes some intern who flirts with a President who doesn't respect anything or anyone much less himself, wife or daughter. They do their thing, he's impeached, she's called to testify and guess what folks? SHE gets a big handbag business THEN she gets to be on TV and host this ridiculous show AND she will make plenty from it. This is her REWARD for the trashy, disgraceful behavior she engaged in with the disgraceful impeached President of the United States...the dishonorable clinton.

What is the reward for all those I mentioned above who work their butts off to do the right thing? Well, maybe it isn't the money ... their reward is the love and respect from their spouses, children families and friends who are proud to know these same people. They know the character that is in their souls and THAT'S the reward of all the hard working people on this earth.

This is all so silly and juvenille. Not even juvenille. I would think a lot of young men and woman (who we never see or hear about)in spite of everything DO have better sense, integrity and character to hold others up in respect and admiration than clintin, monica and hilleree all three. They DO go hand in hand ...clintin philandering, monica doing her thing with clintin and hillerreee standing by watching it all in the name of power.

I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer to remember my Presidents by what good they have done for the American people and others.

I prefer to remember my Presidents and their First Ladies by the love they had for each other and the sanctity of marriage.

I prefer to remember my Presidents for the good inside their souls.

The clintins will leave no legacy to this world EXCEPT Monica and in my humble opinion, hilleree won't ever be President because that would mean clintin would step foot back in the People's house and sully it all over again.

Can you even see hilleree in the oval office using the same room clintin and monica frolicked in????? Boy, if that didn't bother her I don't know what would. How could you ever even look in that room or even begin to imagine the depravity that went on in there.

Nope... I think the people of the United States have had enough and will never again elect another clintin to dirty this great House. They know better. They will elect a person of honor, integrity and character. A person who RESPECTS themselves first, then the office they hold and protect the people of the United States. Does that sound like a clintin to you? Not to me. Not to me. It sounds like someone named George W. Bush! God bless America.

Put those two sentenses together and think about it. Remember, this is the country that gave a convicted child molestor its highest "artistic" award, elected said clinton to our second most populous state, elected Bagdad Nancy to its most populous state, etc. etc. etc.

No one ever went broke undersestinating the stupidity of the American public.

April 21 is also the day Sam Houston caputured General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in the Texas Revolution, an event that sealed the independence of Texas from Mexico.

Now April 21 will be remembered too as the day "Miss Lewinsky," Bill Clinton's term for her, went into prime time TV on Fox! I was wondering if any feminists objected with their "Bill" called Monica "Miss Lewinsky."

The flaw in your reasoning, cubreporter, is that 43 to 49 percent of the American peoiple would do anything Bill Clinton told them to do for any reason. These people believe and will forever believe that Bill Clinton brought in a "good economy," and they remember James Carville's slogan, "It's the economy, Stupid." They will vote for Hillary Clinton to "get the economy back on track." They are not concerned with "so-called moral issues."

Yes. I saw it for the first (and last) time last Sunday. Scumbag came across as his usual snide, arrogant, idiotic self.

I remember in 1992 that then Governor Clinton said he was "sick and tired of so-called family values being thrown in my face." And every time he used that line, liberals and "moderates" cheered him on. Clinton understood the moral corruption of the American people far better than any other politician of this day. He figured out that he could disparage moral values in the face of the public, and they would not care, just so long as there was a "good economy." That's why we are in a long-running "Age of Clinton."

Why they couldn't get someone like Jenna Jameson, or some other porn star is beyond me. It seems that porn stars would be far more qualified for that sort of job. Monica Lewinsky seems more like a rank amature than a real "pro." Plus, the porn stars would be far more attractive, in a trashy sort of way, and given the subject matter, I doubt that would be a bad thing.

I noticed that Herdildo Rivera is back in his element: behind the desk milking the Laci Peterson murder for all it is worth.
