When I was a little kid and could only dream about owning a great looking car, the showrooms were full of them.

'65 Vettes, Jag XKE's, '67 GTO's, the first Buick Rivieras, lovely curvaceous machines each and every one.

Now I can afford a good car, and alas, I'm in the era where everything looks like the box it came in.

I do NOT get the appeal of the slab-sided, squashed roof, giant wheel well school you see reflected in so many of these "dream cars".

I LOVED that car... but what's with the carbuerator being so touchy? I had quads on mine and danged if they didn't cough everytime I touched them. My husband was showing it off one day and JUST so happened to open up the tachyometer and pffft it wuz gone... coughed for the rest of it's life. We had to completely rebuild the thing later.

I miss that car. It was 6000 lbs of power that cornered like a boat but it felt like I riding in a recliner.

I guess they're OK, but if I get a new car it's gonna be the 2004-5 'tang. I owned a brand new '67 convertable and have kicked myself every day since I >GAVE< it to a kid who worked at the auto parts store I went to...sigh. I didn't want to fix the rocker boxes...

No fuel cells, 50 mph yes, 50 mpg even better.

Not a bad car, if you think paying an extra $5000 to save 500 gallons of gas is a good deal, and don't mind the risk of buying a $4500 battery someday.
