HEATHROW TERROR PLOT
Sky News ^ | April 19, 2003

Al-Qaeda terrorists planned to shoot down an airliner from a theme park close to Heathrow airport, it has been reported.

Reacting to police intelligence, the Government quickly moved thousands of troops and police around Heathrow and other key London sites.

At the time of the alert in February, the authorities would not reveal the exact nature of the threat.

But The Sun quoted government sources, saying that members of the terror network planned to break into Legoland, near Windsor.

They planned to enter the huge park while it was closed for the winter before carrying out the strike using a shoulder-fired missile.

"The intelligence services established there was a threat from elements connected to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network," the source said.

"Our people later learned that their plan included a break-in at Legoland to launch the missile.

"We believe the target was probably going to be a big passenger jet heading to Heathrow.

"Obviously they hoped to get in unnoticed, mount the assault and get away before anyone had realised where the missile had come from," the source added.

Al Qaeda can only pick on the weak. As soon as troops and police were present, they ran.

Well don't get too comfortable, because they did run and were not caught which means they still are out there and probably have one or more sholderfired missiles.

The may also have been only testing the response by leaking their plan and watching to see what the authorities did.

I'm not complacent about this - however our police are used to dealing with the IRA, and Al Qaeda appear to be more of a bunch of screaming little girls than they are.

Another example of why every Islamofacist terrorist organizer and Islamokazi must be hunted down and removed from this earth to protect the innocent.
