Andrea wasn't an allegedly mentally ill person. She was a documented mentally ill person. Rusty is a failure as a 1)Husband 2)lover 3)friend 4)father 5)Christian. The list could get longer. He saw her everyday and knew something was wrong. There were several hospitalizations and many trips to the doctor. Her family saw it too. None of them did anything meaningful to help Andrea or the children. What do they all do now? Sue the hospital and the doctors. IMO they are to blame too. I have a friend who lives 2 doors from where they lived. She said Andrea was not all there. Rusty just resumed his pathetic life.

Hey, long time no see :) When the Andrea Yates story broke, I was in the middle of writing a term paper for my psychology class. The topic I was given was "Electroshock Therapy; Does it or Does it Not Work". There was a story where Rusty took Andrea to a shrink and they turned down the option of Electroshock. As I researched, I learned that besides memory loss, the treatment causes brain lesions. In addition, my conclusion was that it is not effective in long term relief of symptoms. What if Andrea Yates had gone through Electroshock? She's already in bad shape, right? At least maybe those kids would still be alive. The doctors are not to blame, the family is. Look at it this way, if the doctor tells you to quit smoking and you don't and end up with lung cancer, whose fault is it?

Any woman who goes out with Rusty Yates is an idiot.

He looks like Westerfield! And in San Diego no less. What a maroon. I've always likened him to Ira Einhorn, except that Scott has an higher standard of personal hygiene.

This new look is certainly reminiscent of Einhorn. Holly was a petite bubbly young woman who hooked up with an abusive monster. I used to have a side-by-side comparison of Ira and Holly to Scott and Laci. I'll have to update it with Scott's new look.
