OOPS. I should have put dogbyte's words in quotes. They were not mine. (But I wish they had been!)

Speaking of francoloathian (why do I have a feeling that this is a word that could catch on around the world?), I needed a pseudo-AKC "breed" to call my new mutt-dog from the pound on his Vet registry. Francoloathian Terrier sounds pretty good to me.

"It is necessary to say to those who are unhappy with ... French diplomacy that they are free to criticise, but they must keep products and services of our enterprises outside their quarrel." Oh, really. We mustkeep their products and services out of our political quarrels.
Don't think so, bebe.

The leaders, speaking for the first time in two months, had what US aides called a "businesslike" conversation. Yup. Bush told Chirac what we do in Iraq is our business so you keep out of it.

Francoloathia is my new word for the dayI hd a discussion on a separate thread with an erudite FReeper a while ago. "Francophage" is the word we are looking for. I'll try to find his name to give appropriate credit.

Know what? 'Francophage' just doesn't have the same 'je ne sais qois' as francolothia. It really doesn't. Mark my words. Francoloathia is gonna be the one that sticks.

I can guarantee you that a lot of duck hunters and steelhead fishers on the West Coast have turned out the lights of Motel 6 for our overnights while hunting or fishing.

....Both fear that French companies will be excluded from contracts in rebuilding Iraq.....
There are no French contractors capable of getting the job done. Time is a consideration and Americans will finish the work before the French could mobilise and plan what's to be done. They lack organizational skills that apply to current efforts.

We live in NC and there is some very good local wines, especially from the Biltmore Estate. When my wife and I are looking at wines, I ask her if she wants Biltmore or "Kangeroo" (Aussie). It cracks her up every time!

I'm not much for wine--but there's a NC wine called "Duplin" made from scuppernong and muscadine wines. Love just to smell it--it's like walking under grandad's grape arbor in September...

I don't like labels printed in two languages, English and French. Maybe that could be the next protest. Every stupid package I pick up is written in French as well as English--it offends me just to see it. Perhaps the printers of these labels could be encouraged to desist with the translations. Don't mind Spanish, but lose the French.
