Ron Reagan Jr. Blasts 'Corrupt' Bush Administration (Get your barf bag!)

Ron Reagan Jr. is furious that the Bush administration styles itself as heir to President Reagan's political legacy.

"The Bush people have no right to speak for my father, particularly because of the position he's in now," the longtime liberal and former ballet dancer told Salon.

"Yes, some of the current policies are an extension of the '80's. But the overall thrust of this administration is not my father's--these people are overly reaching, overly aggressive, overly secretive, and just plain corrupt. I don't trust these people."

Recall that Junior bashed Bush during the 2000 Republican National Convention, which featured a tribute to his father. As he told the Washington Post's Lloyd Grove at the time: "The big elephant sitting in the corner is that George W. Bush is simply unqualified for the job... What's his accomplishment? That he's no longer an obnoxious drunk?"

Salon asked Ron Jr.: What if a group of concerned citizens approached him and helped raise money for his entry into politics? His response:

"You mean like they did with George W.? 'Hey, you've got name recognition, that's all that matters--we'll give you millions of dollars to run!' Imagine coming to a man with just two years' experience in public office, and a ceremonial one at that. Imagine installing such a blank slate in the presidency of the United States! This is a regency, not a presidency," raged the temperamental twinkle-toes.

"And they told us, 'Don't worry about W. not knowing anything, good old Dick Cheney will be his minder.' Dick Cheney? And this was going to be compassionate conservatism? Dick Cheney is to the right of Genghis Khan, he wants to drill your backyard, he wants to deny black people their rights-- it was all there in his voting record for us to see. What were we, rubes?"

Amazingly bad luck. The Pres. ejaculates millions of sperm cells and the one that hits the target is wearing pink lace panties. Poor Ronaldo Magnus! He spawned a wimpy little homosexual who craves another 15 minutes of fame.

I am soooo confused - I thought Reagan had a son who was pretty cool, he's a conservative radio talk show host. Or did Reagan have two sons? Someone help me out...

Reagan has two sons. You're thinking of Michael Reagan, from his first marriage to Jane Wyman (though I believe he is adopted). HE should've been the namesake. Not this pathetic goon!

... and you think you're being interviewed for your political insight!?!? Is this irony or morony?

Perhaps this petunia has a point. The same "read my lips" gang along with the old Bush gave America the largest tax increase in history to date and advocated a "reinvigorated UN".

They may have done a politically opportunistic 180 degree turn, but that, in itself, is scarey. We are all going to appear very foolish if, in reality, they have not really altered their course.

Didn't Bill Clinton promise faithfully to cut the taxes for the 'middle class', and then turn around after elected, and say(not exact quote): "Oh gosh we're sorry, but we can't give you that tax cut. We'll have to raise taxes now, sorry!"?

It would seem that although Bush Sr. goofed up, the next one did worse? Why aren't you after him? Do you have so much dislike for Bush Sr. that it keeps you from objectivity, hmmm?
