6/1/03 Cleveland, OH Gund Arena Could be a good opportunity to voice our objection to entertainers using their celebrity for a political soap box.

Features the Marshall Tucker Band.

What's your plan? - just picket outside, or would we have to buy tickets and heckle them inside? ;~D

I would hope you could find something more important to do with your time.
One member of the group made a foolish, off-hand statement out of frustration. Unlike many celebs, she has appoligized several times for it and certainly seems to regret the statement. The music is still of the same quality. The group has expressed respect for President Bush and has made no statements against the war since the fighting started. It is time to move on. If you must "tilt at windmills", try focusing on those many celebs who still show great disrespect for the President and have no regret for their anti-war activities even though it may have made the work of our troops more difficult.

I will be freeping the Dixie Chicks here in San Diego with the sign that I've carried at the last two support our troops rallies here. "Hey, Dixie Chicks, are you ashamed that our POWs are from Texas?"
The Dixie Chicks can say that they are sorry till they are blue in the face but until they make amends for their actions I will continue with my freep.

Lubbock Texas home of Natalie Maines..... has already been snoobed by the Chicks when they decided to not give a concert in Lubbock.
That is fine, now that Natalie opens her BIG mouth, we are embarresed that Natalie is from Lubbock. As a matter of fact, We don't claim her at all.

Complete agreement. They've done the honorable thing. Now it's time for us to also do the honorable thing, which is to accept their apology, and move on to real problems. Unless we want to decide all of a sudden that the left's "symbolism over substance" strategy is a good one after all.

Earth to you two, but the Blixie Chicks told the folks Down Under, where they were touring recently, that they stood by their remarks in London. So who's sorry now?
