Normally I don't post vanity threads however many of the original Freepers know a little girl now turned young lady (my daughter) who has been a freeper since she was 13 years old. These Freepers have followed her quest to attend a US Military Academy. Over time, they have given her valuable tips, suggestions and prayers.
Late yesterday, Congressman Isakson's office notified us that she has been accepted to the United States Air Force Acedemy Prep School in Colorado Springs...
Her accomplishments have been many for one so young, she's only 17 and ready to graduate High School.
To all those Freeper's who encouraged, helped, prodded and guided...your efforts were not in vain.....To be a mentor to the many young new conservatives that are on this site, is a gift....
She posts under the Freeper Name: "proud_to_be_an_american"
God Bless America!

Congratulations. My brother-in-law went that route. He had some hard times but perservered, retiring as a decorated colonel a few years ago.

Thanks! I posted this since she is at a Civil Air Patrol Meeting tonight and I was hoping that any well wishers would post so she would see them when she gets in later!

Hmmm.
A suggestion. If she excels there, the AF will pay full tuition to medical school. She can become a doctor for nothing!!

I brag on my daughter so why can't you brag on yours.
Congrats to her!

Way to go!!!! I have lived In Colorado, and Colorado Springs is a beautiful place, I wish your daughter much success. I have one daughter sophomore at college..and I know some of what you are feeling.

She had to have had the best grades and activities in high school to get appointed. Kudos to your family.

Congratulations!!! You must be so very proud of your daughter. If she has a freeper background, she's already 90% in the right direction. The other 10% comes with what accessories to wear with the uniform :) . Please wish her well and tell her we feel safe with having outstanding young people training to take over the reins in life.

Glad to see she didn't take that 'Send Us Men' slogan to heart. My congratulations it. The Air Force Academy isn't Canoe U. but they have a better football team.

Another job well done, congratulations!

Your daughter is one of the reasons I have hope for our country's future. (During the 90s I sometimes had my fears.) Congratulations, young lady! Congrats to the parents also in order.

Congrats! My son kept getting a show of interest from the Air Force Academy, but they waited too long. He's a Lance CPL in the Marines now. That degree in astrophysics is on hold until he gets back from Iraq. All the best to your daughter!
