Please join us at the Exeter bandstand (or one of the adjacent corners of Front and Water Streets) at 5pm on Friday evening, April 18, 2003 for a Patriot Rally to support our troops and President Bush.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Announcements; Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society; Free Republic; Miscellaneous; US: Maine; US: Massachusetts; US: New Hampshire; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: april18rallies; exeter; freep; nh; patriotrally; rally; supportourtroops; troops
Last week's rally was another raging success! Twelve enthusiastic people showed up in the freezing wind and rain, and cheered-up the passers-by by waving flags and placards in support of our troops and for President Bush.
Drivers-by honked their horns, waved, and flashed us the thumbs-up signal, and were generally very happy to see us there. The "Antis" were there again -- about 8 of them, I believe -- and took the front of the Town Hall. It didn't matter, since we discovered that the bandstand island in the middle of downtown, where all the roads meet is actually a much better location. We get car horns honking in support from all directions! Some people slow down in their cars to almost a stop to say "thank you" and/or give us the thumbs-up and a smile. It's very uplifting to be a witness to the support.
I also wrote a Letter to the Editor about these rallies to the Exeter News Letter, which was printed yesterday. My letter also extended an invitation to any and all who agree with our position to come out and join us. It will be interesting to see if anyone "extra" shows up as a result of it.
So if you're in or around the Exeter area on Friday at 5pm, please join us down at the bandstand or on one of the adjacent corners of Water and Front Streets.
Bring your flags and posters!

I'm in DC but I have some good friends, Connie and Skip, that go to church in Exeter and live nearby. I'm going to try to send them your way. They have a son serving. They don't have Freep names -- yet.
To: FreeTheHostages
Really? Where do they go to church? I might know them.
To: NH Liberty
Their reverand is Stephen McGee, I believe. It's an evangelical Presbyterian church in a beautiful white church near downtown.
To: NH Liberty
oops, "reverend."
To: NH Liberty
Their son and also their daughter-in-law now serve. And the Dad is a former fighter pilot and the Mom a nurse from Vietnam. You've never met such nice and patriotic people.

Really! Yes, I know Steve Magee! I also have some friends who go to Exeter Presbyterian, and often get together with some of the folks there. In fact, we went to a dinner there last week.
Also...Steve Magee joined us for a short while at last week's FReep. He couldn't stay long -- maybe five minutes -- but he wanted to do his part...LOL!
Now I'm trying to think who your friends are...Connie and Skip, eh??? I'll find them and introduce myself to them at the next meeting. Our church and theirs, along with a couple other solid evangelical churches in the area, often get together for worship and special events.
