MILAN, Italy (AP) -- Italian anti-terrorism investigators say they found a Syrian connection with an Iraqi-based Islamic extremist group suspected of shuttling recruits and money between Europe and the Middle East.

The investigation, which led to the arrests of six people in northern Italy two weeks ago, comes as scrutiny of Syria's alleged ties to terrorism has increased. The probe is headed by prosecutor Stefano Dambruoso, who has won key convictions against al-Qaida suspects arrested in Italy.

And yet the 'Gulf states' criticize us for threatening Syria, I'll know true change has come the day they criticize Syria for what it is doing. Course I ain't holding my breath!

NEWS.com.au: "AL-QAEDA SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ITALY" (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ITALIAN police have arrested a Moroccan accused of links to a top al-Qaeda operative seized in Pakistan by the FBI last year, prosecutors in Milan said late today. Milan magistrate Guido Salvini said Mohamed Daki, 38, with an address in the northern city of Reggio Emilia, was arrested on Sunday. According to the charge sheet, Daki had contacts with Ramzi Binalshibh, an alleged lieutenant of Osama bin Laden credited with planning the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. Binalshibh was arrested in Pakistan on the anniversary of the attacks and brought to the United States to stand trial. Prosecutors said Daki had been living in Reggio Emilia since arriving from Hamburg, Germany, in January.") (April 11, 2003) (Read More...)

What will happen to the Syrians for violating the UN embargo on Iraq. Aren't they complicit in stealing (with Saddam's help) the Iraqi peoples' oil?

On 9-11 terrorists struck our land.
On 9-12 George Bush declared war on terrorism where ever that might be.
We are presently establishing a base in Iraq from which to operate.
We will stamp out the terrorist bases much like we stamped out Japanese resistance in the Pacific islands during WW II.
Syria is next............

BTW: HI!!

I totally agree with you about Iraq being our base in the Middle East...we can keep a military presence there for at least the next decade to keep Syria and Iran on notice...the swiftness of this war, the loss of faith in the Arab media by the average Arab after they kept lying to them, the smiling Iraqis destined to soon see their standards of living increase expotentially and to become the envy of the Arab world...all these factors put into place by our wonderful president and his brilliant team...it's great to be alive and to bear witness to this unfolding of history.

I find it ridiculous for Syria or Saddam to take the fall with their terrorist ties for Pakistan, China or even Russia. But when the whole of the Gulf states go into useful idiot mode, bashing Israel and the US and taking the fall for Hitler's bidding and Syria's bidding, you have to wonder what is the IQ of these losers? I mean how dumb can you be? What is there to gain to fight America, win or lose? The muslim man was initialy designed to be free, IMO, despite Mohammed's megalomania that lured them away from this promised freedom. Anyhow, it was the principle, and it is amazing that muslims to this day castrate each other and take the fall for fools that castrate them. And the most stupid and insignificant idiot is glorified to their own demise. Well, so be it, may they drown in their lies and hypocrisy. They ain't seen nothing yet. Because refusing to see their own confess means accepting the rotten inheritences, presents and treacherous relationships they have in stores after their deaths. The muslims are bonded to evils they do not see, the ones living today could care less, they will die with "72 virgins" waiting for them, while those who live on will get hell as an inheritence. I predict terrifying strife for the muslims in the near to mid future if they do not start to shape up. Dying with lies and with secrets untold to other muslims the way Saddam or Syria do it is going to get them wholly unprepared for the types of masters the evils of today have in store for them in the future. God damn the muslims.

At least I won't have to boycott my favorite dishes...I could not survive without my "depression food". Thank the Lord and pass the lasagna!

Can I come?

My wife used to make fantastic lasagna. Now our son does. He also inheritied his mom's chocchip and brownie talent. And even German Chocolate cake. I don't think anyone anywhere can make one better than she could. aaaargglllhhh.

Italian wines are on the buy list too. But I bought them even before the French showed their rear ends so I can't boycott French wine.
