Whether she runs for the White House in 2004 or 2008, it looks as if there's a Bush in Hillary Clinton's future.
"If Jeb is in the mix [for the 2008 nomination] it's his," a top GOP official tells U.S. News & World Report this week. Equally certain, say insiders, is the fact that former first lady will make her move in 2008, which could set up another Bush vs. Clinton election.
With the Iraq war's result adding to GOP confidence that President Bush will be re-elected, speculation is now turning to his successor, the magazine says. And Jeb's name is coming up with increasing frequency.
But what if Jeb's brother fails to turn the economy around and the U.S. occupation of Iraq turns sour? "Then Hillary Clinton will run against George instead of Jeb," one Washington watcher tells NewsMax.
Either way, Americans can look forward to another Bush-Clinton contest before the decade is out.
Read Jeb Bush reaction to all the speculation that he might seek the White House, as reported by NewsMax intern John Rossiello in January.

Sen. Hillary Clinton
No it doesn't, but even if it did, my point was that there are more than five of them.
Picture this: October 21, 2004. A plane carrying the Lieberman/Edwards ticket, and X42, vanishes. Wreckage is spotted floating on Lake Michigan.
The party panics. Who can possibly step in at this late date, with the ticket that was trailing 49-43% gone?
At a memorial service three days later at Madison Square Garden, the tearful widow steps up to say a few words. "Everything they stood for, everything he stood for, is at risk. The children have never been in greater danger! Just before this wonderful meeting, I took a call from Chairman McAuliffe and Senator Daschle. Although it is the last thing I want at such a personal and private time, I have reluctantly agreed to become your nominee in the upcoming election."
And what makes you think she wouldn't make an excellent Vice President pick for Jeb? I get the impression that she's more of a quiet "behind the scenes" player that could do wonders for Jeb the way Cheney did for Bush. I'm actually liking the idea of a Vice President without presidential ambitions of their own.
Actually, this is the best strategy for ANY Dem candidate. If the candidate can be drafted as a "savior", then they won't have to expose themselves by openly appealing to the radical Dem base. That will leave them better able to fool the public that they are really a "moderate".
W J Clintoon fooled all from get go. Hitlery does not have that luxary as all know what she is about including the boos in NYC and her lack of funeral attendance around 9/11.
"Jebbie" hasn't got a prayer against Dr. Rice.
Au contraire. Jeb's presence is the only thing that would effectively block Rice from gaining the nomination. Out of loyalty to the Bush family, she would step aside and become Jeb's vp, in return for a shot at the top slot in 2012 or 2016. Rice is an extremely loyal individual.
Only I believe that some of the Washington K-Street Lounge Lizards have it exactly backwards. I don't believe that Jeb wants to be President right now. I really believe that he wants Bob Graham's senate seat, or, barring that, Bill Nelson's seat in 2006. Normally, this is where Giuliani would come in as a possible successor, but I don't think Bush entirely trusts Giuliani (Rudy supported McCain in the bitter New York primary contest). Rice, on the other hand, has shown blood and honor loyalty to George W. and the Bush family.
She relentlessly promotes the "President's" policy.
She keeps her counsel to Bush between the two of them.
She does not leak.
She is enormously popular.
And I think that she will be the one promoted. My reasoning? Jeb, as well as GW, understands that by 2008, the American people will want something fresh in the White House besides "a Bush". 2008 would be all wrong for Jeb, as too many idiot females would vote for Hillary (sorry to insult any FR ladies, but the fact is, there are far too many women who would pull the lever for "a woman" who only wants to "help the children"). Rice, otoh, attacks Hillary at her base vote: black voters and white females. Rice is the Hillary-killer, period. She could do things to Hillary that Jeb simply could not do. Rice is a stud on national security, foreign and defense policy, so she's got white men locked up.
Rice is also rather easy on the eyes, at least when compared to "Brand X"....
I mean, come on people. Do the freaking math!
All because Jeb reminds too many females of the husband who likes to check the wife's totals in the checkbook.
The next couple of years will be decisive regarding 2008.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
