Joe Scarborough's show on MSNBC opposite Greta on Fox is excellent! He is a true partriot and he skewers the left night after night. I urge everybody to tune in! Let's support one of our own. It would also be nice if everybody would send an email to MSNBC supporting Joe. Thanks!

The cable news wars are definitely heating up. Last night I was surprised to see Joe Scarboro go after Bill O'Reilly for his hubcap stealing comment.

So called "objectivity" has always meant sedition and treason.
"Free speech" today means advocating sodomy, whoredom, pornography, narcotic use, and of course sedition and treason. Be suspicious of the big words, i.e. 'justice', 'freedom','democracy' etc. The better question;in whose interest is a proposed course of action being set forth?

"If you have a range of opinion that leaves out a whole part of the country," Mr. Shapiro said, "you're unintentionally sending a message that `you are not welcome here.' "What I can't figure out is why it took the mass media 35 years to understand this and balance things out. MSNBC's "Donahue" lineup was completey normal for network coverage since 1968. The obvious question for all those execs is exactly why they did not do something like this (i.e. get rid of Dan Rather) on the broadcast networks in 1975, or 1983, or 1992, and why it still has not been done today except on FOX and MSNBC.

"If you have a range of opinion that leaves out a whole part of the country," Mr. Shapiro said, "you're unintentionally sending a message that `you are not welcome here.' " For years the mainstream press has ignored the heartland of America in its proselytizing of the liberal cause. Most major newspapers on the east and west coast look at the interior of the country, including the south, as irrelevant. Fox is proving that there is a large amount of the populace who will tune in for news and opinion that reinforces their values, not denigrate them.

Fox's formula had already proved there were huge ratings in opinionated news with an America-first flair. What? Americans rooting for America means huge ratings? I am shocked! Shocked I tell ya.

FOX has definitely raised the bar, I predict the demise of CNN

But [Fox] with 46 of the top 50 cable shows last week alone... BWAHAHA!!!
To: MEGoody
Still, MSNBC's moves have news executives and some liberal critics worried that Fox's success will push TV news too far from a neutral tone.
ROTFLOL. And they probably actually believe that they are neutral too - in spite of all the evidence to the contrary. I'd say that they are clueless.

"I certainly think that all news people are watching the success of Fox," said Andrew Heyward, president of CBS News. "There is a long-standing tradition in the mainstream press of middle-of-the-road journalism that is objective and fair. Mmmmmmm. Grape Kool-Aid. Tastes good and so good for you.

Since CNN's new chief, Jim Walton, took over last winter the network has reaffirmed its role as an international news network. It is the only one of the three cable-news networks without a flag on its screen now. By CNN claiming it is "international", I'm sensing that they are falling in line with the persistant "anti-Americanism" worldwide. I expect their US presence to shrivel and to plod along with the other America bashers.

"There is a long-standing tradition in the mainstream press of middle-of-the-road journalism that is objective and fair. I would hate to see that fall victim to a panic about the Fox effect." They still haven't gotten it, not until they admit that what they've aired for years is as leftist and unobjective as it can get, then they'll have 'gotten' it.
I too think Joe Scarborough is better than Greta, her dependence on one of her favorite pundits, David Gergin, shows where Greta's heart lies.
I just wish FOX would dump old Shepherd Smith or that he would find better info than his most oft quoted source, the New York Times!

After the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, though, Fox News Channel covered the fighting in Afghanistan with heavy patriotism, referring to "our troops" Uh, if they aren't "our troops", whose are they?
I find it amazing that the media has "their Constitution" that has "their First Amendment" rights that they are constantly hiding behind, yet they aren't "their troops".

....Meanwhile, back at the ranch, ABC & CBS continue to report on the havoc the war has caused to the "poor" Iraqi people. This morning alone, they showed the damage to the hospitals in Iraq and the suffering to all the poor people.
Never do/did they report the suffering caused by Sa.damn....

Well, yes. Fox rules, but MSNBC remains a news business organ that has to appeal to its target audience -- its customers -- and is making changes to reflect that. CNN remains a leftist progaganda organ, at best, and like all such organs, holds itself aloof from its audience (we know what's best for you, shut up) thereby reaping what it sows. The entire tone of this article is remarkable, that of a "reasonable" writer trying to understand something alien to his experience, ie, large numbers of people who love their country and respect its leadership.

MSNBC really started moving right PMSNBC was the home of John Gibson, Patti Ann Browne, Laurie Dhue, Greg Jarrett, and Bridget Quinn for some time. I was particularly happy to see Gibby get out of there. Jarrett has been a pleasant surprise.
The channel has gone through several changes, including interactive (chatalong during the programs), girl talk (remember Ashleigh and the girlz?). If memory serves, FNC and PMSNBC have been around the same length of time. Fox is obviously "on plan." PMSNBC is still floundering.
