Forrester (who was pro choice) lost to Lautenberg in New Jersey, largely due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of female voters chose the Laus. Since Forrester was pro-choice, women instead rejected him for his pro-gun and pro-drilling stance.

Well yes if both candidates are abortionists, then they will choose some other factor. But my main contention still stands: since most Republicans are pro-life, abortion is many times the major factor for women in deciding who to vote for. I base this on the fact that I asked my three sisters and my fiancee, one at a time all at separate times, why they were voting for Dems and the first thing out of their mouths was the pro-abortion stand of Dems.
