The US Government will be beaming US Broadcast and CABLE news to the newly FREED Iraki public. In a segment from CNN tonight (4-15) Paula Zahn spoke with Norm Pattiz from Westwood1 Radio and and Georgetown Professor Mamoun Fandy. Pattiz is PRO and Fandy is CON.
The telecasts will include ABCCBSNBC and FOXNEWS nightly news broadcasts in the hope that by viewing a "free and OPEN" news media system, this will aid the creation of a free Iraki media too..."the benefits of a FREE PRESS" as Zahn put it.
Fandy also said that viewing the US news broadcasts would bias Iraki viewers and we should rather train Iraki journalists in the western tradition of journalisms (lying all the time??)
Zahn specifically stated CNN has decided NOT to participate. (((???..perhaps because they are already the Iraki News Network???)))
The newscasts will be broadcast by special aircraft broadcast platforms that stay aloft for six hours at a time.
This is just TOO FUNNY!!
Thats 30

They aren't participating. They're an international corportation, so they say.
I hope somebody at the IRS is looking over their return as I type.

Maybe the anchors are afraid their faces would be recognized from when they were Saddam's house guests.Wonder if they jumped on the bed in the Vlad the Impaler bedroom.

CNN is afraid that they wouldn't measure up to the competition and be recognized for the idiots they are. They'd have to start behind the curve and wouldn't know how to catch up - reporting the news instead of managing the news. However, in their absence, CBS and ABC can play the idiots.

Err...were they asked? Or was this a preemptive refusal?

Offer CNN a possible interview with President Bush and the alternative of a one-way trip to Gitmo and then maybe they'll give US "propaganda" equal time?

"no; it's because they're Al Jazeera-west. "
Yeah, that was my thought. Any Iraqi that can get Al Jazeera wont need CNN, its redundant.
FoxNews OTOH would be great for the Iraqis.
We need some Iraqi freepers.

This is great news. No CNN for Iraqis. Perhaps most will tune in to Fox.
