"Do you think the government had any responsibility to share intelligence information with the airlines that Khalid Mohammed and al Qaeda terrorists were plotting to hijack airliners and fly them into buildings?"
Yes.

"I'm simply saying that there are only two people on this thread who thinks the airlines are to blame for 9/11"Where did you get that from? Please quote the sentences here, and state the post numbers, of those who belive the airlines are to blame for 911.
I am sure you are not a liar, so please post the quotes.
If you can.

A friend of mine is a flight attendant for AA. This person said that there are 51 Vice Presidents of AA. There used to be 18. These middle managers are well paid but refuse to take pay cuts. This was a sticking point for the negotiations, one of them, so I'm told.

"Clinton would never have profiled Arabs, and you and I and Al Gore know it. Besides, this report was compromised from the start. "You are correct there.

These folks oughta take a note on some hospital staff up in northern Michigan.
While most of them went back to work, about 1/4 of them struck last fall...
And are still walking!
Yesterday, the city told them that they had to take down their tent which was on city property.
They may be walking a VERY long time.
Like until they can draw S.S.?

This was a sticking point for the negotiations, one of them, so I'm told. This is very typical in korporate ("k" because it resembles command and control more than the free market) America.

I work for an airline right out of college and will never forget the great lessons I learned from the President of that company. He started the airline while in college himself and everyone wore many hats. Shortly after I started with the company, on my way to lunch I stopped and emptied a wastebasket. The President was visiting and saw me. I was called in and he told me he liked my attitude and suggested if I wanted I could learn other jobs on my own time. I tripled my salary in less than two years and was a member of senior management in four.
When I started, the unions were starting to be a problem, but the employees keep voting them out. Unfortunately they keep trying and the company went bankrupt and the president killed himself.
To: Mulder
I gather you're right. I used to work in corporate America many years ago and found it to be generous, a pleasure to work there. But this padding of middle management with high paid salaries is draining the lifeblood from real entrepreneurial business. Right now I work in the health sector and find that there are too, too many middle level bureaucrats "managing" the managed care system. It's unbelievable.
To: not-alone
What a horrible story! Though I am sympathetic to my friend the flight attendant for AA, I am not a strong supporter of unions.
To: El Whino
I was referring to the generosity of Carty & Co., and their newfound patience for a re-union vote. Funny, how that *urgent* threat for bankruptcy filing suddenly can wait. I thought the judge rejected the petition to delay the APA vote yesterday BECAUSE DELAYING a vote, would CAUSE AMR to file on Tuesday, and the judge wouldn't allow it. Did AA give false testimony in court? Carty has been hysterical trying to push the vote through by today.
To: sinkspur
I once me Bob Crandell as a young man. I thought he would make the best President our country could ever have produced. I still believe that. The man is amazing.
To: Beck_isright
I for one, feel your inclusion of the name of the Lord God Almighty within such a nasty post, is not only irreverant, but inappropriate, and not appreciated.
To: MonroeDNA
Where did you get that from? Please quote the sentences here, and state the post numbers, of those who belive the airlines are to blame for 911. Beck isright accused the airline CEOs of United and AMR of manslaughter. Go up the thread; you'll find it.

Self-inflicted bitterness and wailing in Oak Lawn tonight. ROFL! You might need to explain that "connection" to our fellow, out-of-State Freepers. *grin*
To: BluH2o
Anytime you unionize ANYTHING... it is just a matter of time until they (the unions and the socialist member's)
run the whole thing out of business...Between Unions and PC most companys are F**K'ed

There is a pilots joke about the three most useless things at an airport. After this "stew" vote, brace your self for a whole new series of jokes about stews, with or without a chipped front tooth.
My sympathies to the pilots who voted a paycut only to see their entire business threatened by a union of airborne waitresses.
I have a hard time believing that any stew could be that dumb on her own - such monumental stupidity takes a union. No, make that a union of stews.
A friend belongs to a union that is so productive that the free market tends to prefer his union to non-union people. Unions per se can be a good thing. Often they are merely avenues for the social predators to enrich themselves. Pity.
