I might "give it to them good" but the foil prevents that "logic radiation" from penetrating to their brains. I give up. This is like logging on to DU to make fun of them and they take you seriously.

""Blaming the Flight Attendants" is nonsense. The numbers simply don't add up."
Not true. They needed the concessions to secure future financing. The banks have already said without these concessions in total, they will walk. Chapter 11, here they come.

When you're the only one advocating a particular position, on a forum like FR, does it occur to you that you may be the one in error?
To: sinkspur
Gore, Clinton, the DNC, and RNC ALL TOOK BOATLOADS OF MONEY from the airlines. This was a general failure by a lack of leadership at the top of the government and the corporations.

So why do you blame the airlines? The FBI could have stopped the whole thing if it had simply scoured Zaccarias Moussaoui's hard drive.
To: sinkspur
Since it is only yours and two other's thus far stating I am wrong, and since I know some of the insiders working for Homeland Security and TSA, I will stand by my statements. So far you've only posted supposition and opinion. I'm not defending Clinton or his FAA by any stretch. My statement is fact. The airlines deliberately refused to invest in security infrastructure (among many other things) to inflate earnings. They government, complicit with the airlines, did not follow up on what is now 5 year old reccomendations. Sometimes the lone oak tree which survives the storm proves to be strongest. I shall be that oak tree and refuse to give any responsible group, be it the FBI or AMR a free pass for the murder of American citizens on 9-11. You can give anyone a free pass that you wish, that's your option. But I can live with myself afterwards as I'm being honest with myself and with the facts I've been presented with.

The airlines could have prevented this also by endorsing (enacting, supporting, etc...whichever word floats your boat) the necessary security measures which were suggested and supported over the 10 years prior to 9-11. But I guess you are one of those that think the government should take care of you cradle to grave.

If your wife forgets to lock the back door, and an intruder breaks in and steals some valuables, is the intruder responsible, or are you going to beat up your wife?

Sorry, sink, but he is not alone.

You're living in a dreamy world, where the guy who forgets to take the key out of the ignition is responsible for the thief taking your car, rather than the thief.

According to Philippine intelligence officials, that is exactly the information Murad provided in his 52 days of tactical interrogation after he was arrested as a result of the fire in Ramzi Yousef's and Khalid Mohammed's apartment in Manilia.

Sorry, sink, but he is not alone. Well, then there are two of you.
The FAA controls almost every aspect of airports and airlines, including security. Holding airlines responsible for observing security measures instituted by the FAA seems a bit silly to me.

Actually, the union manages this voting process...not airline management.
To: sinkspur
This is simply another success of a union shutting down an airline. Too bad for American. I hope they recover and hope they hire all new FReeper Babes who are bright enough to negotiate their own contracts.
To: sinkspur
"Well, then there are two of you. "Yup! Us against the socialist, unionist world.
They are unarmed.

When you try to bully people, with implied peer pressure, what does that make you? I'm not bullying anybody. I'm simply saying that there are only two people on this thread who thinks the airlines are to blame for 9/11. Most people would say al-Qaeda is responsible, with the FBI a close second for not connecting dots.
An airline is not responsible for conducting surveillance on terrorists.
They do have deep pockets, however, which is why I suspect Beck wants to hold them responsible.
To: MonroeDNA
I'm not giving up. I'm just not going to waste my time with these two. I've said "joint responsibility" how many times now? I guess they are of the "blame government for everything" crowd and think that personal and corporate responsibility are to be decided only when it's convenient. No wonder Enron was able to steal the investing community blind. Enron was not at fault, it's the government's for not making sure that they did not steal. The arguements are absurd and point out why we are moving in a very scary direction with regards to government authority over our personal freedoms.
