Iraqi refugees: Al-Sahaf committed suicide 15-04-2003, 11:46

Iraqi refugees who have taken shelter at Iraq's borders near the Iranian town of Dehloran over the week have claimed that Information Minister Saeed al-Sahaf had committed suicide, the Iranian newspaper, Mardomsalari reported Tuesday. A similar report was published in Iran's Arabic newspaper, Al Wifaq.

According to these reports, al-Sahaf hanged himself a few hours before Baghdad fell to US forces on April 9th. The refugees gave no source to confirm their claim.

In his press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, said the US government believed former Iraqi leaders, including deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz and al-Sahaf, may be hiding in Syria. (Albawaba.com)

If the rumors are true this leaves a perfect job-opening for Tom Daschle. He has been rehearsing for it for years but he's nowhere near as good at spin as B2.

Apparently he didn't get the word that lucrative speaking tours and book deals awaited him here.

On a serious note, I saw many tidbits in articles about Iraqis mad at him for lying - and thereby prolonging the war and deaths. Even a repub. guardsman said it.

He will emerge to tell us he was just under the weather from eating the roasted stomachs of the infidels who suicided at the gates of Baghdad. I do hope he isn't dead, I had grown quite fond of him,,,he was just so cute in a whackjob sort of way.

There is a story circulating around from one of the Arabic Press outfits that some disgruntled Republic Guard members tired of the war and their buddies getting killed, called a meeting of Saddam's survivors via one of their buddies in the group.

When these leaders got there, the Republic Guard guys shot and killed all of them but their buddy.

Yes. Whatever happened to Saddam, whether he was killed, injured, hiding in a bunker or left the country, I bet Baghdad Bob and others were led to believe Saddam was in charge so that they would feel compelled to exercise bravado all the way through the war out of fear.

Q:How many Baghdad Bob's does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: There is no need to change the lightbulb. It glows brilliantly, basking in the power of the wholly intact and fully functional local power station. The room is not dark, and there is no bruise on your knee from the furniture you didn't walk into - Allah be Praised!
