I WAS WRONG (Eric Alterman finally admits what we've known all along)

I WAS WRONG
Paul Wolfowitz thought U.S. forces would be greeted as liberators in Iraq. I did not. His prediction in this case, was correct. I was wrong. (And not for the last time, Im guessing.)
I hope Mr. Wolfowitz has equally good luck in the rest of his predictions since they seem to be driving U.S. foreign policy right now. Id be amazed, and the consequences of his being wrong will likely be catastrophic for this country, but as I said, Ive been wrong before. And as far as the Iraqi liberation goes, Im extremely pleased to be wrong this time, at least in the short run. And if the Bush Administrations past history is any guide, the short run is just about all the Iraqis can expect to enjoy.
For the record, being sucked into the maelstrom of the right-wing slime machine is a pretty interesting. So far, it seems to work thusly: Andrew Sullivan writes something scurrilous on his blog. Its picked up by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and David Horowitz, and Richard Mellon Scaifes Worldnet Daily, reprinted in the Moonie Times, and then broadcast on MSNBC cable. Im sure therell be more. (I wonder whats taking Fox so long.) Anyway, I must say, its a pleasure to see ones arguments vindicated in real time
.
Some of those who are doing the crowing at least those few to whom evidence has any intrinsic value might wish to read Mike Kinsleys piece, in which he demonstrates that being right about the course of the war has zero implications for being right about its wisdom. And by the way, compare the headlines on the Kinsley column employed by the Washington Post and Slate and tell me Post editors were not covering their own posteriors. No Quagmire, but Still Some Questions vs. this.

Geez Alterman, why do I get this unshakable suspicion that you'd be absolutely giddy if things went to hell in a handbasket for the people of Iraq?

Read the whole article, he uses that comment to then open up a whole group of slams of the administration. He is still the liberal P**ck he has always been.

"I was wrong."Thankyou, Eric, for understating the glaringly obvious.
"I've been wrong before."

He is the most self-absorbed of the lefty "mainstream" columnists so his "I was wrong, but" is no surprise.

"This idiot can't offer an apology without a disclaimer."I think it's about the best a leftie can do. At least he didn't say (as most of his comrades do) that his prediction "was right at the time."

Alterman's piece demonstrates just how childish the anti-war, pro-Democrat Party, whiners can be. Even in their utter defeat, like the Fedayeen Saddam, they are obviously still firing away. Pathetic, and hilarious at the same time.

He is still the liberal P**ck he has always been. Well, he is right, though.
Others have been proven right in outcomes predicted.
This poor sad sack will forever be correct only in future predictions.

One down, millions to go.
But he is still a whiney little turd.

This lame hit piece doesn't even qualify for "apology" status, despite its title.

Follow his page down to his campaign to boycott the Baseball Hall of Fame until Dale Petrosky is fired.
The column is too-cute squared; its author is shot in the ass with himself, an ego addict.
It drips with pathological hate for Bush, the tell-tale for terminal leftism--
In case you missed his homage to Lou Reed.
