It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. Australian reporter doing a taped report in front of the NTV cam:

Sense of life returning to normal in Baghdad, and this morning "Hundreds of police officers, health care workers, and electricity workers" did respond at the request of American forces, to help get things back on track. However, the Americans can't give them any pay, so it's a bit of a tough request. Police officers will not be wearing uniforms so as to not give the impression of the old regime.

However, a (his word: fierce) firefight did occur in the square (aka circle) in front of the hotel last night.

And a couple hundred protesters in front of the hotel now, protesting that the invading forces go home.

He also mentioned that the "Library of Religous something" was on fire.

Something's on fire, I didn't catch what though.

Sounded like the Ministry of Religous Education.

The problem is, the media, the M.E. and all the liberals will play that part of it up much bigger than any good that is being done, but I guess we all knew that anyway.

The folks in front of the camera are (let me guess) whining about lack of food and water, and want the USA to get out of the country.

In less than 2 weeks, the food and water will be taken care of. In less than one year, our presence will not be noticed by the average guy in the street. We may have oil-field workers, experts, etc., and hard-core Muslims will decry that -- there is always something for somebody to whine about.

I agree, the liberal media is a problem. But it is part of a larger problem that includes educating children and adults to be critical thinkers, instead of simpleton followers.

Liberals call it chaos...

90% of chaos is a result of Iraq citizens destroying and taking material possessions of the former dictator..simply payback time. It is already getting under control. Libs trying to create another "Quagmire" or "Operation Pause" panic. Don't be a a sheeple!

They gave a report of his report. It was some Middle Eastern "expert". He may have been an Iraqi exile. There's no way we would use any weapon of that type in an area we were going to use after the war. I'll see if any more info is on the web.

Two points here - first, we plan to get out; second, "they" in front of the camera do not necessarily (actually, probably do NOT) represent the prevailing sentiment. 25% of the people in the USA still think this war was wrong, and that GWB is the devil incarnate.

There wasn't a dopey western agitator in the crowd that looked an awful lot like that JackA who gave an interview on Iraqi TV telling everyone the US was losing, was there?

Where did that twit go? Would we be lucky enough to find out he went to Syria with his buddies?
