The bomb vests can be quite effective, with the side benefit that the person pulling the trigger does not suffer. Suicide nerve gas attacks would be unpleasant for the person pulling the trigger, and therefore it may be harder to recruit subjects for such missions, even if the mission could be carried out from a technical point.

Thank you for your full answer. That will help the next time it comes up. I did use this snipped argument when I spoke with him... that it would be tough to get anyone to volunteer to perform a mustard gas suicide attack. But you have several other good points as well. Thank you. I didn't realize the first WTC bombing had chemical agents. Man, the more we learn, the creepier it gets. I agree we will find WMD... I think we already have, but we're keeping it under wraps for now. My friend asked me why we wouldn't tell the world as soon as we found WMD. I explained my opinion that it would put our troops at greater risk, etc. But also, it's like a murder trial: you don't know what the prosecution has for evidence until the trial starts. I believe we are amassing a ton of evidence right now, and the "truth" will come out. Also, as I mentioned before, my background is in Environmental Consulting, so I do know it takes time to perform chemical analyses. Yes, the tests can be "rushed" but even then, it would take a few hours for the result after the sample reaches the lab. I worked on small contamination sites, and it would take us anywhere from a day to a week to collect all the samples and document everything, and get the samples to the lab. Then it takes another day for the lab results... much more if you're testing dozens or hundreds of samples. We've only been there for 3 weeks. It would take us that long just to investigate and report on a simple gas station cleanup. And that is nothing compared to warehouses packed full of chemical drums. So even if the first couple of tests have come back positive for WMD, there's no way the Govt would go public with it until it has been verified, probably in triplicate, and all the QA/QC has been covered, proper chain-of-custody, sample location maps, photo documentation, etc. It's only been 3 weeks, and we've been a little busy fighting a war. Our sampling/investigating teams probably didn't even get into most of these suspected sites until the last couple of days... I wouldn't want to be collecting samples as bullets were flying over my head. :-) I just wish the media understood what it takes to do an investigation of this type. Then they might realize it's not something that can be "proven" the moment we find the first chemical drums. (Silly me!)

Cboldt: There was one incident where a Patriot missile battery was taken out by a coalition jet

Amom: I think I heard a bit about this on FoxNews tonight...said it was Ap 2nd fwiw.

The FoxNews mention was only confirming that the F-18 shot down on 4/2/03 was blue-on-blue. Blue-on-blue (Frinedly fire) was suspected from the get-go, but was not confirmed until recently (or else FoxNews is recycling old news as though it is new).

I've been trying to watch for any info about it but hadn't seen any. Things are going to settle down for me, for a couple days, so hopefully I'll be able to dig into it more.

Someone walked in FRONT of the camera, and said "So this is dead now? This is dead? (or out, or black, or something like that).

Then he realized he was standing in the way and you could hear him saying Sorry, Sorry, and now that I've typed it, it sounds really stupid.

Crawling back into the hole.....

I was channel surfing earlier to see if any of the news had embeds up in Tikrit and saw this Iraqi doctor on MSNBC, knocking our forces, saying they have no electricity but one small compressor & that there are armed terrorists all around the hospital & no help from the U.S.A. He was p.o'd and if that kind of stuff keeps coming out in the news, well, you know where that will lead...

*LOL* Get back out of that hole! It sounds really funny. Makes you wonder if half the presstitutes at the hotel have actually left the confines of the hotel since they've been there.

Sounds like they need to rework the FOF system.

The Brit Tornado's transponder was off or inoperable IIRC. I haven't heard any details re: the F-18 incident (F-18 lost), or the F-16 incident (f-16 won), where the Patriot battery painted the aircraft.

I agree with you, the system needs to be improved. It will be, you can count on it.

Chanters... I thought they said "(something something) U.S.A." I hope it wasn't "Go home USA."

And again, if the media makes a big deal of this... Grrrrrr. I live in Portland, a metro area of 1.5 million peole. Our anti-war protests don't amount to more than about 10,000 people on their worst days. So if this did turn out to be an anti-American demonstration/protest, it's a pretty weak one. A couple hundred people in a city of 5 million? Puh-leez. Wake me when you have a REAL protest. LOL

It makes you wonder if somebody is keeping a very close eye on all the "dissenters". It also makes me wonder if some in the press are exchanging money for interviews to get the "news" they want to report.

I'm surprised the marines haven't shown up to break it up, so it doesn't get ugly!

A lot will depend upon how the presstitutes spin it and if there's any official comment on it from our government.

Just surfed over to MSNBC. They had a report on TV from London that claimed during the fight for the Baghdad airport, we used a small nuke on the Iraqis. The "expert" said that several thousand Iraqis were turned instantly into skeletons. I don't think that happend, it was most probably a "Daisy Cutter". Maybe more than one. If by some remote chance we did use a small nuke then I say, good job.

Oh I'm sure, these other liberal news media are ferreting out the worst of the worst to make GW look bad, they always do, but no amount of good news ever overshadows their small amount of BAD news, unfortunately!! What the heck do they want our soldiers to do, they are still fighting a war & snipers & terrorists!!
