RESCUED POWS

SAFE: Private Shoshana Johnson (centre) was one of seven captured US service personnel rescued by US Marines in Iraq. "We are ecstatic that not only is she safe, but that all the POWs are in US hands," said her father Claude Johnson in a statement.

RELIEF: All were said to be in good health, although two had gunshot wounds. The wounded were not identified in early reports.

Heading Home: They were handed over by Iraqi soldiers in the town of Samarra, about 35 miles south of Tikrit in northern Iraq, after a tip-off from locals.

SMILE: They were flown to a US airstrip near Baghdad and then onto Kuwait.

LUCKY SEVEN: Some of the seven had been shown on Iraqi TV after they were captured.

Thank you for posting these photos. You're a nice guy for doing so. :o)
Wahooooooo! For our released POW's! I'm certain their loved ones are beyond thrilled.
I hope and pray we find the MIA's soon.

There must be some great parties going on in their families' homes! I hadn't seen Spc. Shosanna Johnson's photo before, and didn't know that she's a petite little woman. In my heart I had strong doubts we would ever see them again, but nope, we've got 'em back! Praise be to God, and thanks to our Iraqi informations.

I have a strong feeling this news is going to boost Jessica Lynch's recovery, physically and emotionally.

Oh thank goodness. I'm so glad we got these poor guys out.
I just hope we find and EXECUTE the bastards on the video. The ones with big grins over the dead US soldiers.
Warcrimes tribunal for all those involved.

A coworker of mine has a niece who is very good friends with David Williams and his wife Michelle. Here is a snippet of a letter that Marge shared with me (4/3). Prayers have been answered, I am so happy that all our POW's are safe.
Aunt Marge,
I have not heard from Michelle, Dave's wife, in several days. I forwarded your emails to her. Someone donated a POW flag and flagpole. She has had overwhelming support. Your friend Susan and all the others, including you, who have sent words of encouragement and prayer have meant so much to her and her family.
Her older brother is in the 82nd Airborne and is in Turkey awaiting deployment into Iraq.
She is holding up well considering the amount of stress she is under. Her parents are with her and her unit is, very understanding of her situation. I will let you know if I hear anything from her.
