I swear to God, that the above picture and caption ran in the Sunday News and Observer, just as you see it above, except the image was larger on the dead tree edition.

Now, I think it's hilarious just the way it is, but I'm sure that my fellow Freepers may be able to come up with some better captions.

What's really odd is, that in the print edition they had a much image, and the women all seem to be staring intently at the shadow.

When I saw the picture the 2nd time, I thought about the song, "Me and My Shadow." Just a thought!

"I shall sew it on for you, my little man," she said, though he was tall as herself, and she got out her housewife [sewing bag], and sewed the shadow on to Peter's foot......

I missed this in yesterday's paper. Probably because I only buy it for the sale ads and coupons and don't waste my time or blood pressure reading the rag itself.

I agree with you though, this is hilarious.

We still take it because my mother loves to read the "paper."

Why she wants to start every single day with all that grumbling and mumbling is beyond me.

After selling his soul to the Devil in a despirate bid to gain the Democratic nomination for president, which left him a mere shadow, John Edwards is pictured during a two-day swing through the state.

I stopped the paper a couple of years ago and we've been going to the store and buying it on Sundays since then. Just recently signed up for Fri-Sun delivery again since it's about the same price as just buying the Sun paper alone and hubby likes the TV guide, we both like the weekend section in the Friday paper too.

Well they called us last week and offered 7 day delivery free for the same as weekend only until our pre-paid subscription runs out in Sept.

Guess they suck so bad that they have to give the paper away now. I don't know why hubby said yes because now he just has more to carry out to the curb on recycling day : ). Now the only thing I look at during the week is the crossword. Can't bring myself to read it.
