Your exclusion of women from fighting is a form of political correctness. You've set a standard, and you don't want anyone to deviate from it. Well Americans don't fit "standards." They didn't talk with the retired Ohio school teacher I spoke with several weeks before the war started. She enlisted in the USMC on December 8, 1941 and was told she was going to be a jeep mechanic. She explained to the Corps that she didn't even drive a car. They asked what she did, she told them she was a school teacher so they told her "You'll teach other Marines how to be jeep mechanics." She spent her time as a Marine on a group of islands in the Pacific, working on jeeps.
