Russia creates the rights. This is no small difference. We do not rely on the state to protect our rights. We instead give the state limited power in for limited purposes. We also retain the power to resist the state and to overthrow the state if necessary and replace it.

In the constitution you showed me, all power is in the state and the state provides the rights and protections to its subjects.

In russia the state is supreme. In our country the individual is supreme.

This difference is more than semantics and is the reason Russia will never rival us. Our individual freedoms are no match for Russia's.

I agree completely, the cold war never really ended. Communism may have failed in the Soviet Union, but it never died out in the hearts of the Europeans.
