Waco vs Iraq

Posted on 04/12/2003 12:43:30 PM PDT by cd jones

Strange how the government doesn't want our flag to show in Iraq, but didn't mind it in Waco. Seems things are little bit backwards.

How many more times do I have to tell folks, that was in Mount Carmel, NOT Waco. Waco was merely the closest large city with enough hotels to house the journalists and ATF.

That's statement is not completely true. The soldiers are permitted to fly the flag of the USA on their tanks in Iraq.

They do not fly Old Glory on captured property there because we are not there to keep possession of their country.

Please be reminded that GW was not the Commander In Chief at Waco - the traitor Clinton was.

This comment [overly simplistic, strained comparison between unrelated incidents years apart, different presidential administrations, etc., etc., etc.] reveals that it is you who are strange.

Who gives a warm spit about Koresh and his standoff? Didn't care then, I don't care now.

Nobody has a right to stand off law enforcement.

Because some people have no lives unless they spend all their time obsessing over a paranoid, violent cult leader and his pathetic set of loser followers, all while concocting some tin foil fueled scenario involving a meaningless conspiracy at the highest levels of the Illuminati.

So, let me get this right, those innocent children had the most horrible death imaginable coming to them?

Decent people should speak only reverentially when discussing the horror of Waco.

Needs to be repeated over, and over.

You are correct. Ruby Ridge happened under President Bush I.

The multinational, co-ordinated, assault on Mt. Carmel occurred under x-president Clinton.

Where Ruby Ridge was a particular agency, and a particular sniper, that were taking very questionable actions, Mt. Carmel was like a mountain, compared to the molehill of Ruby Ridge.

I don't think President Bush I ordered Ron Huriuchi to shoot females and babies.

I do believe that x-president Clinton authorized and ordered what occurred at Mt. Carmel.

I think what he meant to say was that those people died as a result of the selfish motives and actions of a very self-centered cult leader who didn't give a whit about the lives or spirituality of his followers ...

Vernon Wayne Howell promised to come out after a taped message of his was played on KRLD in Dallas, THEN he said he was coming out after his work on the Seven Seals was finshed, then ...

Where Ruby Ridge was a particular agency

Huh? By my count I come up with at least three (Weavers actions that lead to charges and a warrant, the serving of said warrant for his arrest and fnally the stand-off) ...

It's interesting to note that the one flag we are seeing in Baghdad was flown upside down as a signal of distress.

was flown upside down

A quadra-sided flat 'object' may be positioned in one of four ways with one side parallel and closest to the ground; bottom, sides or top -

- the flag at that particular time was positioned with one of the sides down ...

At no time was it flown "upside down".

(I watched it *live* and also captured it on video.)

It wasn't "flown" at all. It was draped. What's your (invalid) point?

I won't argue about there being more than one agency involved in the whole affair, as that is true.

Lon (right, not Ron) Horiuchi was the sniper and he worked for one particular agency.

It still involved internal affairs, whereas the confrontation at Mt. Carmel involved agencies and military from outside of the United States. Lon didn't have to get permission to shoot from the President.

At Mt. Carmel, the decision to eliminate the Branch Davidians because of the harm they were doing to the President's potential re-election, and his permission, via Janet (shakes) Reno was needed and given.
