As one senior Marine said: "If you listen to the BBC, we lost the war four days ago." ROFL!!!! He's right!

Somehow I DOUBT the Marines said they wish they could have left. He's a freaking coward so he wants to take others down with him so he could face his "girlfriend." How old is this guy anyway.

A few hours later, orders came through that all journalists were to stop using their Thuraya satellite phones, because the French had sold the codes to the Iraqis. It was a ludicrous explanation It would really be stupid to assume that your enemy is too dumb to exploit something like this. Having been in the military comms biz for a long time, I know what can be done, and the Iraqis are intelligent people. Forbidding the use of possibly compromised phones (I have no trouble believing that the French would sell damn near anything to the Iraqis) was a good move.

I discovered my commanding officer had a booklet with a section entitled 'How to deal with a dead media representative'. LOL!

my commanding officer had a booklet with a section entitled 'How to deal with a dead media representative'. Good to see our armed forces always think positively! LOL

Only good thing about him, he's not afraid to admit he's a coward.

Give him enough time and he'll be writing about how he won the war.

'How to deal with a dead media representative'. Step 1. Nail him to his perch.
Step 2. Explain to other embedded reporters that he is just "pining for the fiords."

"Somehow I DOUBT the Marines said they wish they could have left."
Actually, I don't doubt that the Marines said it. However, they probably said it in the same tones that I use when I say I wish I did not have to pay taxes, that I did not have to go to work on a nasty Monday morning when the bed feels good, and when I say I wish I did not have to clean the garage. Any sane person *would* wish that, just as any sane person would wish they did not have to get involved in combat.
The difference between the adults and the adolescents is that the adults stick with the stuff they wish they did not have to do when it has to be done. Just like these Marines wish they could have left, but by God were going to stick with their job because that is what their job was about.

'How to deal with a dead media representative'. Some, but not all, of the rules of information release are relaxed.

LOL! Just another Euroweenie. His favorite vacation no doubt includes sipping low-fat latte at a Paris bistro.
I thanked the God I didn't believe in that I wasn't with the infantry.
'Nuff said.

I don't know what everyone else is complaining about, I thought the article was hilarious: unintentionally hilarious, but hilarious nonetheless.
