Why don't they just call themselves what they really are: "Anti-American, anti-Democracy protesters".

I don't know how it can be possible, but they just get stupider.
Let's say their demands were met (hah!). The result would be chaos and tyranny on a grand scale.
I pray that the level of vocal disgust with these people rises to a new high in the days just ahead. They are beneath contempt.

And then they'd blame Bush for the screw up even though it was what they asked for

Iraq today is exactly what they want for America... "SMASH THE STATE" and a redistibution of wealth.
The anarchist-socialist goal for America is not compatible with our constitution.

From anti-sanctions to anti-war
anti anti-war to anti-occupation
From anti-occupation to anti-(fill in any future issue of the conservative agenda)
All the while protesting these moral causes, the American left stays anti-American

No, what they are is warmongers to the extent. Ending the war is not what they fight for, but continuing it and starting at nauseum. These people are sick.
To: FairOpinion
Massive rallies had been planned across the United States and in major cities around the world this weekend to call for an end to the US-led war.
Now organisers say the rallying cry of those protests will be an end to the impending occupation of Iraq by coalition forces.
Why do I see the organizing committees sitting around tables saying,
"What? The war's over? Well, we can't cancel these protests now! We already sent out the invitations! What can we protest instead?"
"How about Bush=Hitler?"
"Naw, it's been done to death and they're starting to see through it."
"How about ecological disaster?"
"Naw, not enough pictures of dead birds this time. They saved pretty much all of the oil wells - damn SEALS."
"How about the anger of the Iraqi people about US intervention in their country?"
"Nope. They don't seem to be angry. In fact, they seem to be happy. For the goddess's sake, I actually saw an Iraqi kissing a picture of Hitl- I mean George Bush!"
"How about the abuse of innocent dolphins used to mark mines by human-centric warmongers?"
"Oooooo! Let me check my list...nope, been done."
"Damn! All the good ones are taken! Well, what if we just get together and just enjoy the day instead of protesting?"
"You shut your filthy pie hole!"
"OK, sorry, I had a conservative seizure there for a second. Won't happen again."
"Good."
"How about protesting the oppression of evil dictatorships and call for their removal?"
"Holy $#@%! Don't make me come over there! SECURITY!"

"Only now the focus is, 'No' to colonial occupation," said Flounders. There is no way we can leave Iraq until we have secured the peace and helped the new government get its legs. To do otherwise would be totally irresponsible. Waging and winning the war is just half of the job, and we must be committed to completing the task. This, of course, is slandered by the Left as "occupation". But I assure you that if we actually withdrew after hostilities ceased, these very same malcontents and critics would be screaming that we had abandoned the Iraqis and left them to flounder for themselves without proper guidance.
A pox on the entire worldwide Left. These bubonic anti-American rats are the dregs of humanity. They are a sick and twisted subspecies, corrupt and depraved to the core. They are raw sewage and toxic waste. They are the very essence of evil and pettiness personified.

The goal of continued protests isn't to target the situation in Iraq anymore. It is to keep the momentum of protest mass/press support that they've built up so that they have a ready-to-mobilize group of demonstrators.
They want to be able to quickly rally the group of riots throwing rocks in the streets just like Europe has.
Don't like how the Presidential election turns out? Have a mass protest the next day.
Don't like a vote in Congress or decision from the Supreme Court? Have a mass protest the next day.
These people don't support the American system of government anyway. They've found some common travellers and some people that they've duped into believing that they aren't communists and anarchists. They've been building up their protest numbers since the WTO and DNC/GOP conventions.
The press is doing a great disservice by not blowing the cover of who these people really are.
