The groaning collapse of that totalitarian statue of the Baath Socialist Saddam Hussein in Baghdad, April 9, marks the beginning of the end for socialism in the Arab world. This glorious event, accompanied by the joyous and lusty cheers of people breathing their first free gasps of air, is reminiscent of the crumbling of past socialist symbols, cast aside in the march toward human freedom. I'm reminded of the bomb blowing up the Nazi socialist eagle and swastika at the Nuremberg Stadium in 1945, the throngs of people tearing apart the Berlin wall of socialist East Germany with their bare hands in 1989, the toppling of the Lenin statue outside the Kremlin, and a young girl holding a miniature statue of liberty aloft in Tineaman Square. Maybe America will be next.
Indeed the great modern scientific socialist experiment, born in Paris, along with the hum of the Jacobin guillotine in 1796, nurtured in the hyper-nationalism of the late 19th century which led to the guns of August, 1914, and the Great War, and reaching its zenith in the death camps of Hitler's National Socialist Germany, the gulags of Lenin's and Stalin's International Socialist Russia, and the great leap forward of Mao's Red China, is quickly crumbling into dust. Socialists like to talk about how the success of their totalitarian program is "inevitable" but they are proven wrong again. The only thing that's inevitable is freedom and freedom can be a contagious thing.
Haj Amin al-Husseini, appointed Grand Mufti of Jerusalem by the British, introduced modern socialism into the Arab world in the 1930's, when he helped develop the pro-Nazi political parties and organizations in Arab capitals that would eventually produce much of the ruling elites in Arab states today. Protégés of the Mufti include Abdel Gamal Nasser, Saddam Hussein, Yasir Arafat, and Osama bin Laden. Baath Socialism, emerging from this movement founded by the Mufti, is a merge between Socialism and Islam not unlike Nazism, which is likewise a merge between Socialism and the occult.
The Mufti spent the World War II years in Berlin as head of a Nazi-Muslim government in exile. From Nazi Germany, he funneled funds confiscated from European Jews, known as the sonderfund, into the Middle East to promote Nazi ideas and programs and he trained Bosnian and Albanian Nazi-Muslim SS Hanzar brigades. The Mufti played a direct role in the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews touring death camps and stopping Nazi and pro-Nazi leaders from exchanging Jews for German POW's.
After the defeat of Nazi Germany, the Communists picked up the slack in the Arab world and the third world in general sponsoring totalitarian regimes and promoting international terror as a tactic to destabilize the free world. In "Target America" Yossef Bodansky, writes of the 1972 Baddawi Conference held in Lebanon, co-chaired by Soviet KGB Director Yvgeny Primakov and Marxist terrorist leader George Habbash. The conference established a worldwide "alliance of progressive movements and terrorist organizations."
Many socialists, naturally, are not cognizant of the fact that history has left them behind. They will no doubt still sponsor Zionism is Racism resolutions at the United Nations, which they view as their last great hope for implementing world socialism. They will continue to agitate against individual and national sovereignty and American democracy.
No doubt, they will still gain victories in the future. They've already liquidated over 100 million people under the communist banner alone. They've already caused more poverty, suffering and death than mankind has ever known. They will no doubt still fool many into turning their backs on their G-d given rights. America will be their final gotterdammerung.

Good question.
Unfortunatly, it's a lot like any addiction. The addicts often have to hit rock bottom (or die) before ending the addiction.
