Yesterday, I was filling my husband in over the phone about what was going on and what I was seeing. Mostly, I was thinking (and, let's face it, gloating) that the scenes before me must be driving Bill Clinton nuts. Anyway, one of my comments was that I was pretty sure we were going to be seeing a lot of George(s) being born in Iraq. Seems to have taken one day for the first one.

And the stupid pali's are naming their kids Saddam.

Oh, have they stopped naming them "Osama"? (Those people are hopeless, really.)

Wonder if this is from the same story??

I wish I could remember where I got it. The subtitle said the soldier in the picture helped deliver the beautiful baby.

Ivan, have you happened to run across this photo before (see above 1 or 2 posts). I know it's a British soldier who delivered the baby, I can't remember the source.

Any chance you can find the link?

I just saw the announcement on CNBC, their reporter from Baghdad mentioned it, but couldn't find a link.
And it's always nice to have a link, to prove to some people, that I didn't make it up.

ping to post #66...

Have you seen this picture (I found it yesterday and now can't remember where), and if so do you know the source/have a caption? It's a Brit soldier and he helped deliver the baby. :)

Indeed. It's how our country started with the traditions we now enjoy; and it was a George that returned to us the dignity that the other Goerge bestowed. Very fitting.

Excellant Point

Somehow I don't think many kids will be called Osama in Iraq.

I haven't had time to read through this whole thread so I may be repeating information but yesterday while watching FoxCable news they cut to their reporter in Dearborn, Michigan several times during the day. Dearborn is home to the most Iraqis in the U.S. and they were having a day long celebration in the streets. While interviewing one Iraqi it was told that the man lost his job because he took the day off to celebrate. He said he did not care, that he would find another job, and went on to say he is so happy that he actually is changing his name...from "Ed" to "Bush". When the reporter asked him why he replied, "I love that man, he liberated Iraq. He is a great man!"

Why didn't they name him Jaque or Vladimir or Gerhard? oh yeah because they were against freeing the people of Iraq.

Is this story legit? You give the source as CNBC but link to a generic MSNBC page.

I was watching CNBC (the financial channel) this morning, they had Bob Arnot on reporting from Baghdad, mentioned the suicide bombing AND this news about the first baby born and the named him George after GW.

Unfortunately they apparently never actually wrote a new item.

As for CNBC, CNBC & MSNBC all owned by the same people and there is no separate CNBC site,as in cnbc.com, but if you go to http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/home.asp
you can see it is a CNBC page.

Of course the story isn't there either, I just gave the CNBC channel as a reference. Later I searched and tried to see if this story is "in print" precisely, to validate that I really didn't make it up, but couldn't find it.

But I really did hear him say it.
