France is Almost Finished: Why French gov't acts like a traitor to its old allies.

France is Almost Finished
By Guy Milliere
FrontPageMagazine.com | April 10, 2003

Little by little, the French government tries to change its behavior. The smell of Allied victory wafting out of Bhagdad maybe? You can expect Chirac and Villepin to say: we have always loved the United States.  We are your friends, no hard feelings...  I just hope nobody will believe it in the United States. If within a few days, Chirac and Villepin say this, think about it: it’s ALL about the money. They want to try to keep some of their Iraqi contracts intact. They want the United States to go back to the United Nations where they can again paralyze you with their vetoes and their
counter-proposals.

I'm sorry to say it, but nothing good for the U.S. can come from France now.

Some day in the future this may change, but the French will have to learn their lessons the hard  way.  They have to feel the pain, unlike the citizens of Poland.  The Polish see what they owe to the United States.  A little more than ten years ago, they were under the rule of a communist dictatorship and they remember it is thanks to the United States that they were freed from that nightmare.  The French people will have to see what a nightmare looks like before you can take their apologies seriously.

Be patient, the nightmare is almost upon us.

Economically speaking, France is decaying, full speed. Unemployment is officially around ten per cent. If you add the people who have never worked and so are not counted for the statistics, and also add the students who study nothing  useful, the right number would be way above fifteen per cent. Growth rate is now officially around one per cent, and it includes government activities: if the government component was not included, it would be easy to see that France is in depression.  Her population is growing old, and no money is available to take care of the large number of senior citizens in the years to come. The greater part of  young people are Muslim, not integrated with French society, and almost illiterate.

In fact, the only things that are growing in France right now are crime and Islamism. Some readers have been amazed by the fact that teenaged girls and young women in many city districts have to wear the Islamic veil if they do not want to be harassed, but it gets worse. A few weeks ago, a young Arab burnt a teenaged girl alive in the suburbs of Paris. He was convicted of murder, but he became a hero and an example for other young Arabs living in the same kind of areas.  Two month ago, ten Arab men who raped another teenaged girl in another district were convicted and condemned to spend five years in jail. Yes, just five years. Their families left the court of justice shouting to the journalists it was unfair and they would look out for revenge. Eight days later, the court was burnt down during the night. The teenaged girl and her family have had to leave Paris, and hide in another part of the country.

I have written columns in the French press concerning what’s happening.  The response has been death threats, with color pictures of slit throats, anti-Semitic insults. There were Muslims in France thirty years ago, but they were not like the Muslims of today.  They were moderate, they did not feel they could wield decisive political power in France, they did not think they were at war against western civilization.  Now it’s clear that they think they are at war.  Very few people are in jail  in France (France does not have enough jails), but more than sixty per cent of the convicts are Muslims, and Islamist imams visit them on a weekly basis. My wife was born in a Muslim family.  She’s not a Muslim anymore, and because she left Islam, she risks being killed if she says it  openly.  My wife’s mother is still Muslim, but she is a moderate, and she’s afraid to be considered  a traitor by the much more radical Muslims that are spreading throughout France.

Within twenty years, Muslims will be a majority in France.  And if nothing changes, they will be radical Muslims.

The French government takes care of the present: it knows it cannot take care of the future because there is no future. The French government acts like a traitor to its old allies for many reasons: because it has no principles, because it needs money, but especially because it is afraid of bloody riots.  France is not a sovereign nation anymore: it’s partly ruled by the mob, partly ruled from the outside by corrupting Muslim tyrants. But don’t worry, France also has no importance anymore: it can still bark, but it’s bite is more like a nip.

France is almost finished. The nightmare is almost here.  France has to know the horrors of the nightmare if you want her to have a chance to wake up.  Sure, you may find some exceptions to the rule.  France has some decent  intellectuals: but they have about the same access to the mainstream media that dissenters  had in the Soviet Union twenty years ago. France has bold politicians: one, maybe  two if I want to be extremely generous. France still has genuine journalists:  you could count them on the fingers of one hand.  For the next years, come to France if you want, visit old monuments, but do not expect to be understood or appreciated by the locals. Behave as you would in a third  world country; soon France will be a third world country. Perhaps it will wake up  with a start, but who knows?  Right now, if you read the polls, only 53% of the  French hope the U.S. army will defeat Saddam: the rest hope the United States will be defeated and Saddam will win...

Do you really want France to have a word to say in the re-building of Iraq after Saddam is defeated?

Quelle surprise (ne pas!) - Read this from Andrew Sullivan:

THE FRENCH BEGIN TO WORRY: From my reader who monitors the French media:

This afternoon's signed editorial on French-government-owned Radio France International shockingly compared public attitudes in France today to those of the Vichy regime. (www.rfi.fr - streaming video editorial today at 12:10 p.m. Eastern time from Alain Genestare; archived recording hould be posted soon).

The Coalition forces in Iraq, said the editorial, are frequently referred to in France today as the "Anglo-American forces," an expression apparently not widely heard since the days of the collaborationist Vichy government over a half century ago. As some of your readers may already know, comparing anyone or anything to the Vichy regime is, in the language of contemporary French politics, like dropping a nuclear bomb. Vichy is not something the French have really come to terms with, even today.
(Remember the éclat several years ago when Mitterrand's Vichy ties came to light?)

Well, somebody in the French government must be getting worried. It's about time. The radio editorial then went on to cite the Le Monde poll you posted about several days ago, and expressed shock that some one third of the
French should be hoping for a Saddamite victory, a victory by a "criminal against humanity."

Vichy, huh? Not far off, I'd say. But some over there are beginning to see sense.

I speak Spanish, and often read the Spanish-language press, and can tell you how proud Hispanics in the U.S., even the immigrants, are of the Hispanics serving in the U.S. military, espcially now. The Guatemalan Marine who was killed in Iraq the other day got a hero's burial in Guatemala.

As in France, our problem is that we are not having enough children...

Not to be petty, but I read an article here on FR not too long ago that our replacement rate is not at risk as it is in other parts of the world. Our replacement rate is something like 2.1 which is enough to keep us out of trouble. (Congratulations Mrs. Dittlemyre. You just had a healthy 9 pound ear.)

The difference between the Hispanics who legally emigrate and the illegals is huge. In the agricultural areas of central Florida, you would think you were on the road between Monterray and Puebla. They are not assimilating to the American way of life; they are poaching it and converting the landscape. This will, eventually, trigger a backlash unseen in this nation since the Civil War.

True, but that rate includes the children of immigrants. The replacement rate for native-born American women has been below the replacement rate since 1974, the year after Roe v. Wade.

Hispanics are America's future, just as Muslims are France's future. That is just the way it is going to be: there is NOTHING you nor I nor anyone else can do about it, as much as we would like to.

Now being married to a Chilean I think we are getting a much better deal than the French.

Chilean TV interviewed *MANY* hispanic Marines and Airborne, and almost all of them were sharp, motivated, and focused.

If this is our future, it is a good one, as long as we can wean the hispanics away from Mexican style socialism (this is easier than you think: the ones who bail out of Mexico are trying to GET AWAY FROM IT, even though the California socialists try to wean them back onto welfare)

I'm a native Texan, and his statement is correct. Regardless of how much you cuss at him and act like a jerk.

Good grief, GOP. Except for the American Indians, we were/are all immigrants to the Americas.

I was just listing those killed, but you bring up a good point. And hopefully today she and her fellow POW's will be freed.

A cursory reading of U.S. history will reveal that the French have ALWAYS been traitors to Americans and the British. ALWAYS. Even when America was saving its hide, during World Wars one and two, the French whined, made demands, complained, consorted with the enemy (their own enemies!) trivialized the American efforts, and was always on the lookout for ways to grab U.S. tax dollars.

ALWAYS. The French have not changed a whit, at least regards to America, not once during our existence. And they won't ever change. They are a dying nation as a result.

My apologies. I misunderstood. I wasn't trying to correct you in any way. I was trying to help. Yes, I hope all the POWs are found. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the POW taken hostage in the first Iraqi war were found?

No apology necessary, your point was both clear and welcome.

Yes, let's hope Speicher is also released today.

It's a very sad but true commentary a a couple levels. It shows what happens to a country that does not enforce it's borders and manage its immigration levels. The article also paints a picture of what ultimately happens to countries that embrace socialism and other left-wing causes.

Se la vi.

I'd be glad to continue this dialog, but only if you refrain from using insults.

Go away then. Silly words on an internet forum do no measurable damage. Your type of thinking (which allows this madness to continue unabated) does much damage.

I don't need a history lesson from some elitist who lives in a area untouched by the damage done. History 101; The best source is a first account. My first hand account (living in an area that is a target of this invasion) is you're talking out of your tush. That's not a personal attack, it's a simple fact.

To state that this illegal and unsupportable exodus from an entire global reqion is comparable to former immigration scenarios is factually incorrect. Your only variable is how fast the children are learning the language, so you're not applying logic. Scientific discussion over.

I would tell you - first hand - about the dramatic rise in crime, the unsupportable strain on social services, the degradation of our education system, the neighborhoods where nobody speaks English (and English speakers are not welcome), the lack of entry level jobs for citizens and the many other serious problems that we're experiencing.

I would tell you about all that, but I'm not going to waste my time. You'll come back with some snobby history lesson and tell me it's all good because the kids are learning English.

If you're wondering why I sound harsh, it's because of people like you that live in your neighborhoods, that people like us who live in our neighborhoods have to deal with these issues. When you stop being part of the problem talk to me. I promise I'll be nice and listen to everything you have to say.

"That's eerily representative of our own "Democratic" Party."

Good point. A point that should be made over and over again going into the next election.
