America Haters Lament: "This is...a really ugly day!"
DU

Moderator's Note: Normally we don't want up DU posts or the like. However, given the circumstances, we are going to let this thread slide. Thanks, AM

I know we're not supposed to post DU stuff, but I think this thread is VERY telling and exposes their true agenda.

"it's staged!"

"this is about to be a really ugly day!!"

And lots of anger, sadness, fear and loathing.

Their chracter is further exposed: the America haters don't give half a **** about the Iraqis, they're just about hateing America.

I think in this case its important to show, they are even more bummed than usual. It's worse than them getting stomped in the November election. This is a total descrediting of all they stand for.

If you really want to see the face of DU you should have linked to threads cheering the death of Michael Kelly. There were maybe 3 posters in a 56 post thread who passed sympathy to his family. The rest were happy about it.

The DUers have started eat their own, because of negative comments about "trailer-trash." The DUers who have lived in trailers are insulted by it.

I don't have that many posts (maybe 30?), but its a nice diversion from time to time. Their responses are all so predictable: Bush is an unelected dictator, Cuba is a REAL democracy, the Iraq war is all about oil, etc.

The intellectual laziness and dishonesty knows no bounds over there.

And their LANGUAGE!!!! Oh my, they have such potty mouths.

Absolutely. Many of my family came from Cuba and they feel the same way.

BTW: To Angelus, thought this would interest you.

What is truly distressing about the type of people that frequent DU is that while we may mock them for their stupidity and ignorance, these very same people are becoming tenured professors like Nicholas DiGenova (I can just picture him posting there between classes) and are influencing a generation of young Americans.

My conscience had been bugging me a bit, about my reaction to Rachel Corrie's death, until I read the DUers on Michael Kelly.

There was one very sincere post:

We can't cower in fear of extremists... Who says we have to bow down all the time to the Muslim world? I would imagine a soldier that has fought with blood, sweat and tears, and is far away from home couldn't contain himself from seeing a stars and stripes. When the hell did the Democratic party, of which I belong, become such hell-bent on seeing everything negative? I swear, DU can't be happy for just a moment in that these people might actually enjoy a day a freedom.

I haven't looked at that thread since this morning....

Did they tear this person apart?

It DOES seem to be what they do to ANYONE who does not immediately goose-step to the drum-beat over there!

The violent tone of some of the posters over there is REALLY off-putting.

"...a lot of them are people who never got over the 603 ..."

I've been active politically since my freshman year at UBC in 1962. In B.C., I've had a chance to observe close-up the 'progression' of the left since that time in one of its hotbeds.

Always, always, always, there was a consistent theme in their meetings, their marches, their propaganda.

Anti-USA.

The Maoists quarreled with the Trotskyites, and each with the Communist Party-liners; they had three separate committees to organize different 'Hands Off Cuba" demos. ;^)

They sometimes took opposite sides ina dispute; Prague '68 comes to mind; but always, always, always, they were anti-USA.

The left are not those who differ from us on principle or policy; their very political impulse springs from a deep-seated hatred of the USA. Why? I'm not sure; but I suppose it is an inevitable feature of political struggle.

Every state, no matter how noble, must have enemies.

The DUers choose to be on that side of history. More fools they.

The left is intellectually bankrupt and morally dishonest.

Heads on pikes!

(intellectually, I mean,) ;^)

Lots of tinfoil over at DU

That's nothing...Wellstone was assasinated by emp weapons, the 9-11 attacks were a CIA/Mossad operation, Bush is in charge a criminal empire on par with the Bildebergers & Rothchilds. And that's the widely accepted beliefs. The tin foil is much much scarier.

LOL. There are, I think, a lot more of us there than them. They really shouldn't trust anyone. I wouldn't. ;^)

Hey, that has to be a staged photo!!! I know I've seen that guy at the Boston Market in Valley Ranch (Irving, Texas)!

Oops, sorry. I forgot this was a thread about DU, instead of actually being at DU!

Well, it's a shame that she died, but you have to kind of wonder what type of person thinks they're capable of stopping a bulldozer?

I've just started posting there. I see nothing wrong with competing in an arena of ideas. We shouldn't be afraid to argue with those guys. Who knows... we may change some DU opinions.

That imbecile apparently doesn't understand that there's a difference between Saddam and the Iraqi people. A difference the Iraqi people understand full well, considering that they cheered when the Marine did that.

NEWSFLASH DU: Saddam does NOT represent the Iraqi people! He's not a hero to them. He's the man who's behind the rape, torture, and murder of THOUSANDS of their fellow Iraqis. Why would they be offended at that?
