I did not even read the article...why should I? Who cares what religon someone practices? The question is should Americans die to liberate oppresed peoples around the world?? Yes they should. The more free the world is the safer the world is. It's that simple.
Damn...you'd think we were living in the Middle Ages and the Pope was a King like figure sending people off to the slaughter for a piece of ground, that has some symbolic meaning to some man made dogma.

American Christians, Jews, etc. did not go over there to free Muslims. That has become the mantra now and it makes for good PR. It's the graavy.
We went there to crush a regime that could create weapons to be used by our enemies...the islamists.

Its our duty to confront evil when we can. We live in the greatest nation on the face of the earth, we are blessed beyond compare. It is our duty to try to spread our blessings around. An individual should be responsible to be a good steward of his blessings, and a nation should be a good steward of its blessings. When america stops caring, i think we'll experience calamity.

Should American Christians Die To Liberate Iraqi Muslims?Liberating others follows the Law of the Lord. The Law of the Lord is this: "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets [Matthew 7:12]".

Setting aside religion for the moment, the U.S. had a security issue with terrorist funding from Saddam. The opportunity to liberate the Iraqi people from Saddam's tyranny is an additional moral virtue that comes with securing the U.S. Removing Saddam also removes the source of financial incentives to homocide bombers in Israel (and a PLF bomb making factory). Removing the stores of chemical and bio weapons from future terrorists is a plus. Preventing Saddam from becoming a nuclear power is also a plus. There are so many benefits to everyone in this action. Diverting our attention from the long list of benefits to snipe about the merits of one religious group sacrificing for another is really missing the point.

Quick, cross the road, lest ye become defiled. Leave it for the Good Samaritan to take care of.
