[history]
GOD HAS ROLLED into Baghdad. Our jihad is almost complete. Back home, from the halls of Centcom to the fields of Camp Lejeune, President Bush has invoked the name of the Maker to help us disassemble and remake Iraq in our image of freedom. God bless America. God bless our troops.

When I first read this, I was inclined to spin up at the author, but I have seen Bush make several hesitations over the preceding weeks when invoking God vis-a-vis the dead or missing.
I wonder if he's been advised not to bless Muslims by the Christian God, in sensitivity to that other faith.
Bush is not a heartless man, and I can only reconcile his apparent lack of prayer for Iraqi soldiers and civilians to be due more to political correctness than to any real lack of sympathy. It's speculation, of course...

Typical rant from Globe's Jackson. Could have made a tender point had he not tried to hang upon Bush and all US efforts the albatross of Puritan/Southern Planter/Klansman archtype he and his philosophical kin so believe that "we" are so directly descended from.

Bush said: ''I pray for God's comfort and God's healing powers to anybody, coalition force, American, Brit, anybody who loses a life in this -- in our efforts to make the world more peaceful and more free.'' sigh

The Europeans Africans who baptized sold Africans into slavery, the Christians abortionists who prayed got paid as they exterminated North American Indians unborn children, the Klansmen war protesters with their crosses vandalism were indisputedly on the wrong side of history.

Sounds like the left is really running out of steam on things to whine about. He says that in the oh so arrogant view of the US, the Iraqi people are not worth our prayers. Then if they are not worth our prayers, how is it they are worth the blood of our troops? We are going there to HELP them. Doesnt that show that we hold the Iraqi people in some level of esteem as human beings?
Whats next? Is this guy going to bemoan the fact that we are insensitive to the sub saharan religions because we pray to the Judeo-Christian God for protections and not the spririts that inhabit the trees?
Personally sounds like he cant stand the fact that we finally have a president that will put the interests of the US ahead of those of the world. And part of that is to pray for OUR side.

It would do this author well to understand that God judges intent, both President Bush's and his own !

Derrick has been terminally depressed ever since he was old enough to realize that his mama named him after an oil rig...Worse than that. His mama named him after an old-time English executioner.
Look up the derivation of the word.

No, it is not appropriate to bless the other side during a war. Also, you shouldn't make the mistake the dumb-o-crats have of interpreting GW's pauses as having some sort of meaning.

The main question that this fool needs to answer is: Does God approve of the murder and torture of innocent men, women and children (of which the evidence is clear)? How can a Godly people sit by and do nothing? when it is within you power to do good and you fail to do it, it is sin James 4: 17. By their fruit you will know them
To: TxBec
I oicked that up right away as well. Jackson disproves his entire point before he even makes it. What a goof.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Poor Doc Jackson.... His article seems to upset at the power of God, invoked against Allah.... Gee, the good guys win and the liberals have a meltdown.
