I was mistaken. According to this AP report, there were injuries to the Russian diplomats.

"""The status of dead and wounded journalists is a more important story than the status of Saddam and his sons. """

You mean media bias FILIBUSTER.

Who cares what they claim. Assume the b&st&rds are alive and go from there. If we catch them, turn them over to the mob. Their trial will be shorter than their tenure on the end of a rope!

U.S. intelligence sources indicated American analysts do not have a sample of Saddam's DNA, the cell acid that contains an individual's unique genetic code. Such a "reference sample" would be needed to compare with DNA drawn from remains thought to be Saddam's

Oh puhleeeezzzze...we are in his palaces...someone find his hairbrush, toothbrush, even a used pair of socks will do.

I'll believe it when Baghdad Bob denies it.

Hee hee hee

I can hear him now: "Saddam is not dead! I am Saddam....(Wait...did I say that outloud?)".

Also said Saddam and the one injured son are now in Tikrit, seeking medical assistance from Syria.

HEY!

They moved Tikrit to Syria while I wasn't looking?
No fair!

I am shocked and saddened!

Russkie contracting Generals running show in Iraq? Here's Freeper Alan's report of last nights WABC radio "Bacheler and Alexander" show, per guest, terrorism expert, John Loftus.
Report of John Loftus
WABC radio:

'Retired' Russian generals Atelov and Matsov have been in charge of Iraqi command and control. That is why no communications from Iraqi command and control have been intercepted since the start of the war. The Russians have been directing everything.

The Russian convoy headed for Syria with the Russian ambassador was shot up (30 minute gunfight) because the secret communications equipment was being taken out. This equipment uses encryption that connects with the Russian equivalent of NSA.

When asked whether US forces seized any equipment John Loftus said: "No comment".

With regard to the latest bomb on Saddam Loftus said it was a 'sting' operation again carried out by a Russian advisor. Iraqis were attempting to see if the US could intercept their underground communications so they played an old tape with Saddam arranging with his sons to meet at a restaurant.

The US fell for the sting and bombed the restaurant. (The possibility of a 'sting' apparently has been mentioned on Fox)

Loftus still maintains Saddam was killed on the first night.

Dang it!

I missed the part where Saddam was using a civilian neighborhood for access to one of his rat-holes to try to escape justice, and endangering innocents in the process.
Would you be kind enough to point out which paragraph I missed?

What if they just say he is dead so we'll stop bombing, and Saddam can sneak off to a villa in Syria (if he hasn't already done so)?

Easy question.

I would tell the Syrians to be afraid... very afraid.

LOL...just imagine how little Tommy D. is feeling.

But seriously, I'm trying to imagine I'm a Moslem watching this on Al Jazeera. What would I be thinking? Would I suddenly realize I had been lied to? These are happy, overjoyed Iraqi citizens, they don't hate American soldiers..they love em!

And oh how wonderful for the people of the middle east to see these Iraqi civilians work so hard to topple the statue of Saddam.

For days and days MSNBC has been showing Al Jazeera television, and telling us what "the arab street" has to say. How bout doing that now. I'd like to know what the people in Jordan and Egypt have to say now...and they are watching...their reporters are in Baghdad.

If you are a muslim watching Al Jazeera, you are being told that all of this is made up by the USA and the real Iraqis are setting a trap to defeat us.

Finally on FOX, their reporter in Amman reporting on mood in the street there. He says the big story in today's newspapers is the death of the Jordanian journalist, but he says these pictures coming in on television of "genuine jubilation" will change that, will cause Jordanians to do some "deep thinking".

Remember Jordan was oh so worried about people fleeing Iraq, running from the Americans, overcrowding their camps and resources? Didn't happen.
