Think of Saddam as being in what is known in quantum mechanics as an eigenstate, that is, in a state best described as being neither dead nor alive. There is a box, and inside the box is Saddam. Until we "collapse the wave function" by opening the box and making a direct observation of his BLOATED, FESTERING, MAGGOT-INFESTED CORPSE COVERED IN BLOWFLIES AND STINKING TO HIGH HEAVEN, he shall remain in that eigenstate, that mathematical description of uncertainty.
