Excuse me, Shemp, but the journalists in Baghdad were warned on multiple and continuing occasions that the city is a war zone.
Your argument does not hold up.
Shep on journalists shot at hotel: Founding fathers felt we needed freedom of the press so that regular citizens could check up on the government. Those people who are over there have Iraqi minders with them. How different are these minders from the military? These reporters went over there and aer scared for their lives, and who wouldn't be? They are there for you, just like those soldiers, and I pray that they come home safe.
He made the point that they are in a war-zone. He's responding to emails saying, "they deserve getting killed."
We didn't say "Screw those journalists"...
We said "They're not THE STORY! Tell us about it, and MOVE ON!"
These people need to get a grip and get back to the News...
[Sorry, I'm just sick of it...]
The reporters tried to do that at the DOD press conference today, too.
Disgusting.
The Constitution argument doesn't hold up either, since none of the dead or injured are Americans (AFAIK). Nobody from Reuters is over there covering the war in order to uphold American ideological ideals.
