IF the idiotic four (france, germany, russia, china) had STAYED WITH THE PROGRAM and enforced the sanctions, Saadumb would likely have been broken long, long ago.

I dunno,,that n korean dude hasn't broken yet, nor has castro. I doubt that sanctions work but that is another story.

Exactly! He thought he'd get a deal from France. If France had stood with us threatening force, this wouldn't have been necessary!

In the long run, this is the best outcome. I prefer a useless UN -- not a big fan of central government, certainly not on a global scale.

FWIW, the idiotic four also queered chances at inspections, because they backed off the credible use of force. One cannot EVER back down from a credible threat of force, lest the threat lose credibility forever after.
