Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I think the giant porcelin vase was the best, or perhaps the nice arrangement of fresh lupins. (Dennis Boyd, Dennis Boyd, Riding Through the Glen)

I thought the guy carrying the dorm sized fridge while running was pretty good, but my favorite was the big gold vase with what looked like daisies in them.

And a last, last question:
What ever happened to that Fox correspondent who was a dead ringer for George Clooney?
Haven't seen him since the first day of the war.

Someone took a potted bouquet of flowers out of one of the Ba'ath buildings. I kept thinking, flowers?

When it comes to politics and social issues, celebrities should STFU.

Did anyone hear Shep Smith say that he's going to cover some of the emails and mentioned one that said something like who cares what happens to the journalist? I'd like to know if someone else heard it...my baby isn't always so quiet. Anyway he'll be talking about them soon anyhow.

The guy pulling the big ass boat without a trailer! Now that is looting with an attitude. Actually in these peoples case I wouldn't call it looting I'd call it a tax cut.

Dish has a lot of specialty subscription channels for ethnic markets. I appreciate your effort to enlighten me, but honestly, my short-term memory is questionable, and my long-term memory is downright fantasy.
