Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Heard Ollie's report. He also mentioned they were killing fanatics from all over that part of the world...they weren't Iraqis.

I think a lot of the flack from here was from a big misunderstanding as to what he was talking about.

Why didn't Fox have a Baghdad cam? You Fox lurkers I want Bill Reilly to address this serious issue tomorrow night. Otherwise Bill is just another spinning weazle who avoids tough questions and inflates his own ego.
There: the gauntlet's been thrown down. What are you made of?

CNN poll,
Who should run Iraq?
US 45%
UN 43%
To: kcar
Fox pulled out of Baghdad a few weeks before the war started. They have agreements to use other channel's feeds on the air, but probably not on-line.

Yes, your right. The initial post totally mis-characterized what he said and everyone pounced on it.
The remaining 2% of CNN poll were Floridians who couldn't find their arse with either hand.
To: hobson
CNN just showed a stupid poll that showed who should control post/war Iraq. They had 48%US and 45%UN.....this is how they try and push their agenda. This poll is a lot of bunk.
To: Jackie-O
Did you know Greta and her husband are scientologists? That really doesn't have anything to do with anything we were talking about. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

NewsCorp just entered an agreement to buy Dish Network. O'Reilly can now advocate for a Fox Bagcam, but seriously, action there is downhill. Might as well watch the Milan-Cam.

Scientologists are wankers.
Wankers the lot of em!

Camera Mike and his reporter (both British) filmed a live firefight in southern Iraq a couple of weeks ago. At the most crucial moments, he left the camera to seek shelterand left it pointed in the wrong direction both times.

And easily scammed. They lost big time on some con man's ponzi scheme.
But Social Security is the biggest ponzi scheme out there, no wonder idiots like her think it's a necessary program.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Saddam bought it in that restaurant-bomb.
All the Baathist authorities cleared out the very night after the bombing. Word is leaking out that there've been NO intelligence intercepts since then.
I mean, he may still be crawlin' around the Baghdad sewars like the rat he is, but my conclusion is: that's partly his dust we see blowing by the BagCam.
I sure hope I'm right.
