Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Ollie says that a Somali tried to blow Marines up at a checkpoint with a grenade, but he dropped the grenade early, it rolled inside his pantleg, and he blew himself up without hurting one Marine. Self-cleaning gene pool...

Fledermaus: no I don't subscribe to them, but I'm going to get that book. It sounds like it's really worth the money.
tame: It must have been really bad! I can't even stomach the other channels war coverage. The medidiots just don't get it.

I also switched to MSNBC when Fox went to commercial and saw the "Beautiful Day" montage. I cried.

The only reason they voted "yes" in Oct 2002 was to "be on record" so slime like Colmes can say "they voted for it". EXACTLY ..

Thaaaaat's him!
Oh, here we go. Get New York to tell him what developments are over the last two hours. Then he'll go on and "report" it! Makin' sausage, you might say!
LOL! They're telling him the news and he doesn't know what they're talking about!

"What on earth got Richard out of bed this early...he's more of a 2PM kinda guy!"What cam are you watching him on?
I was watching on the MSNBC cam and he said "Good morning this is Richard." and then they switched the camera to a different view.

He's reporting from Baghdad, but getting his news from New York. What a loser!

Syria is the Wal-Mart for terrorism.
They have been a haven for everyone from neo-Nazis to Maoist Palestianian grouplets.
They opened the sewers. Now it is time for them to pay a price for their behavior.

They're telling him the "news" in his earpiece and he's writing it down! Now he's telling them what questions to ask him!
Who ever thought we'd be able to see right in to the belly of the beast like that!

Okay, unless there are 9 posts a minute for the next 2 hours, we aren't going to make 7,000.
Geez, I take a 90 minute break and everyone gets complacent! hehe
To: Fledermaus
They hated that man.
Boy, that is an understatement. They had good reason to hate that man. While my husband was at the Pentagon the Clinton administration put a "Gag order" on the military. People had their computers searched by the political appointees to be sure that they were "loyal" to the Clinton administration. Those were really bad days.
